Anyone know anything about Fengshui ? Which facing for flat is good ?

a house that is Zuo Bei Chao Nan (Means faces the north/south direction) is the most ideal

but its hard to get such perfect houses ....

a little bit of morning sun is good, or north-east direction

and house needs to be airy and bright.....

those darker areas should limit to bathrooms

and if you still worry, bring kids to choose the flat with you....if they cry non-stop, dont buy...if they enjoy playing inside, BUY~~~

I love to read about Fengshui .. I see it as Science and it takes some common sense too. I dont't see that as superstitious as some do.

I have been reading Fengshui books for the past probably 10 years or so.

It's interesting to understand, discover and unfold more and more... as I read more.

I do put them to practice. My house. my work area.. even my kids' names.

Certainly I dont't believe just based on Fengshui could just change one's luck or life.. but certainly it does help to enhance or eliminate/minimise bad luck. There are many other factors.

It takes one to experience the benefits .. to believe it works! That's why I am a believer. But I dont't overdo them. Everything .. any thing, needs moderation.

My house is in NS orientation. My living room door faces north & my living room windows face south.

I believe the facing of your unit depends very much on the occupant bazi and date of birth + year.

Lilian Too is a good author to look for. She has this basic Fengshui book which is good for starters. Can get from the library.

Yes, facing of the unit...etc... you need to study the Bazi of each individual. More importantly, it has to complement the breadwinner. Say if both hubby and wife are working, try to match the main breadwinner.

With the Bazi, you calculate which the East or the West group that each individual belongs to. With that, you can find out your Best Direction, other favourable directions and bad directions that you need to avoid.

Hence ideally, the door should be facing the breadwinner's Best Direction, when you are looking out, standing inside the house.

Ideally, you should face your Best Direction whenever possible i.e. sleeping with the head pointing to the direction. However, you have to comply to the other requirement i.e. your bed can't be facing the door. Best location of bed is with the door diagonally across.

When I first started to try to understand, sounds very confusing. However, what we are trying to achieve is to achieve the best possible.

As for the kids', if they are studying, certainly have to find out their best direction to face. Also, do not have open shelves as they are deem poison arrows.

There is alot to find out.. not that simple.. however, can be simple... if one were to read, understand and uses some common sense.. It's really fun.

One basic rule - dont't have clutters in the house.. especially at doorway.. that's very bad.

Have you read anything about ancient coins to be placed inside the floor (covered by tiles)?

I have contacted WayOneNet and the Fengshui Master said it is not needed to do this step.

Oh then is it i mus chose NS facing better , how about NE or SW only have this two facing mostly sigh ......... i really cannot chose because this is build to order flat so i must buy now and move in later so cannot check any Bazhi or bring my kids there also .....

I believe the build to order flat has floor plan and floor plan usually has information on unit facing.

Please check with the developer.

Oh yes, I have read about it. But I agree that dont't have to go to that extend.

Fengshui is very interesting.. just needs the patience.. just need some analytical skills,.. some comoon sense... and at times, the author may not be very explicit, hence got to break codes to understand.

However, this is the interesting and stimulating bit for me.

It's not about the language.. guess, needs certain degree of interest to persevere and discover.. that's what my hubby says.

This is certainly not a topic for him. However, under my influence and seeing changes, he is kind of accepted that Fengshui does work.

Hi Ladies,

First thing first i.e. main door to match the main breadwinner.

Agree may sound leychey... but if one believes that Fengshui works for them.. it is worthwhile spending a litlte time to do the calculation on what facing is good for the breadwinner.

Buying a house is not like buying a bag.. can just throw one side if you dont't like it.

Hence have to exercise caution.

For some people whom they dont't quite believe in Fengshui, they are more concern with future sales to fetch better profit.

Hence, they will take into the common belief i.e. maindoor face south and back of the house would be north.

Why is that so?

North is supposed to be the mountain range coz it gives the house dwellers security.

The East would be the Dragon.. represented by the mountain range in an undulating fashion.

The West would be the Tiger.. also represented by the mountain range but has to be lower than the Dragon side coz Tiger can't be overwhelming the Dragon.

In the modern context, can't find mountains, correct? They will be represented by our neighbouring landscapes - like buidlings.

I can go on... and on.

But cut it short, if not sure, let's be practical... go with what most people would like the facing to be .. this will give good resale value in the future and forget about Fengshui.

Especially you are so pressing for time to conclude your purchase.

As what Admin-Ed said, you should be able to access to the floorplan to conclude which unit is of south facing.

Coincidentally, my main door is also facing now. However, for my case, I have studied and analysed... then concluded that this is the best facing for my family.

As for case, just based on what you mentioned, can't quite say good or bad. As said before, if dead serious about Fengshui, one either consult a Fengshui Master ..however, for myself, I enjoy this type of knowledge.. hence DIY instead. It's a sense of achievement and in control of matter .. that's how I feel for myself.

Ooops.. back to your kitchen stove. dont't have it face directly opposite the wash basin. As we know stove is of FIRE element.. and wash basin is of WATER element. Hence it clashes. Thus it's best to be adjacent to each other.

If you know your BEST DIRECTIONS.. try to have the socket entry to your rice cooker.. electric kettle coming from your BEST Directions. But believe this is too chimp.

But something simple that you can easily apply...to boost fortune.

1. If you can, have a fish tank 8 goldfish plus 1 black one (total 9). Place it in the SE wall of your Living Hall. Make sure the water is clean and clear all the time. Not cloudy.

2. In the Northern part of your Hall, if possible, place a fountain. That's good.

3. If you believe in Ancient coins.. you can place three ancient coins tied with read thread and placed under the door mat.
