Giving birth in KL and register baby as Singaporean

Hi mums (and dads), I am a Singaporean by registration (was Malaysian) and my wife is a Malaysian. We are planning to have our baby delivered in KL's Gleneagles Hospital and have some concerns over birth registration issue. I want my baby to be a Singaporean. MFA stated that application for SC needs to meet this condition where:

• The father, who is a Singapore citizen by Registration and has a lawful marriage. The child shall not acquire citizenship of the country he was born by reason of his birth in that country.

In this case, do I need to obtain foreign birth certificate (in this case malaysia) for my baby upon birth before file in the application? If yes, would my baby automatically granted Malaysian citizen given that my wife is a Malaysian?

Appreciate if anyone facing the same situation before can share your experience with me. FYI I posted this issue to ICA but their replies are not helpful at all. Thank you and wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year.
