This is exactly what I am doing. I bought many kumon books for my kids to practice at home. But I haven't been using them a lot, don't see the point in practicing 1+1, 1+2, 1+3, so many times.

Pink_daisy I totally agree with you that parent/mothers are the best educator for a child ! Every child is different. Only the mommy understands the child best and knows what is the best way to teach him or her.
