The doctor advised us to do it when our son was young. The younger the faster the healing and less painful.
I was looking at doing it after the birth, before discharge, but we were quoted $2000 by the hospital. A friend suggested we go to a clinic. We did it a month after birth at clinic and...
I did circumcise my boys. My first we did not bother then he got an infection and we needed to do it when he was older. Once we did it there was no problems with infections. The second boy I did shortly after birth, and we have had no problems. I would do it again if I had another son just after...
Actually it is not a case of if but when and how bad the infection will be if they are not circumcised. If you are going to do you should try to do before he is one. The plastibell method is best, involves less cutting and no stitches. The proceedure takes 5 min at the doctors clinic and...
Hi Mai Chiang...It a personal choise of course, but for me it is now a must.
I have two boys. Im chinese and our family did not practice it or talk about it. Our first I did not get circumicised, but he kept getting infections. This was really serious in some cases and we opted for...
I had my little one done at birth, and would strongly recommend it. I think there are real health benefits, but it is a personal thing. It is also a very minor operation (5 mins max). Are u doing for health reasons or religious reasons or because of family preference?
I had my little one done about a week after birth, and would strongly recommend it. I think there are real health benefits, but its a personal thing. It is also a very minor operation (5 mins max). Are u doing it for religious reasons of health benefits or just because hubby did?
Hi i'm also chinese. Had my two boys done for health reasons. Also no one in my family did before. My first son had infections and had to do when older 5 yrs. With our second son we did after birth...much better do as pain of infection is much worse than circumcision... why take the chance
I wanted to do it in the hospital after birth but the cost was close to $1000. Of course this did not include the cost of referrals etc. In the end we opted for the Crescent Clinic a few weeks after birth. It cost $100 and the result was very good.
It depends on the method used. If the ring was used it should not be very painful and only about an hour or so of discomfort. My son when straight to sleep after it. the ring drops of in 5 days.
Were did u get it done? was it the ring?
Hi Gohmummy,
I did my son for purely hygiene reasons. I think it is much better. My son has suffered no infections unlike the boys of my friends that did not opt to do it. I think it is possible to do it at 1 year old but the quicker you do it the better. Do not leave it too late
Hi Gummi,
I think you can still use the plastibell method at 10 months. I think it starts to gets a bit difficult over 12 months. The moving round will not be a problem, my friend did her son at 9 months without any issues at all, and he was very mobile at the time.
The plastibell method...
The operation takes about 5 mins and then the recovery takes about day or two. No medication needed, its simple, and fairly painless. You should do it as soon as possible because the plastibell method can only be used on a small infant. If you leave it too long the method will not be available...
You should bring him to Crescent clinic at Eunos. Very good value $90 and experienced doctors. You should do him as soon as possible then they use the plastibell method much less pain one or two day recovery.
