I also got know other Singaporean mothers who are mostly living overseas alone and looking after 2-3 kids each as their husbands travel a lot. They all managed to cope so definitely can be done! :)
Izzymom, I was overseas when I had my no.2 and looking after a toddler as well. So definitely no maid or family or even friends to help out, can only depend on hubby and myself. It is very difficult but still can be done. Some more my kids were only 21 mths apart so the older was still very...
I started early on in second trimester, cos it's supposed to help with morning sickness as well, and my damned morning sickness didn't go away until 22 weeks. =) Just a cup a day though, nothing major.
It depends on how fast you need the stuff - DHL of course will deliver in about 5 working days, whereas so far my experience with their USD $4 international shipping takes around 2 weeks. Can be 3 weeks though during their peak holidays periods. So given that you can't exceed 1.8kG and USD $80...
I usually just keep below the weight / cost limit for International Airmail... And if necessary make two separate orders because it's still cheaper than DHL for the entire order. =P
pineapplegarden - you're welcome! =) I'm currently in 37th week, planning to drink it after the birth too, as I had prolonged lochia with my first girl. Hoping that drinking the tea will reduce the duration of bleeding this time round....
Hope you'll have a great delivery!
I order mine from iherb.com - ships from the US within 2 weeks, and the stuff there is way cheaper then in the stores in Singapore. Can get a lot of organic skincare and makeup through it too...
Hi, not sure if my experience is still relevant, but for my first gal, I saw a senior consultant at TPS, and iirc the total bill came up to around 1.4k for the entire pregnancy (not inclusive of delivery). My bill is actually on the high end as I saw my doctor more often so paid more lah...
Sigh. And here I am wishing that no.2 will pop earlier....
My first gal was induced 1 day before edd, ended up in 30hr labour. Hoping mei mei comes earlier!
rabbitmummy, you can pass some of your high blood pressure over here... mine is consistently too low, around 90/50...
Btw anyone still going swimming now? What do you wear ah? I wore a bikini when we took my daughter to the swimming pool, felt so self-conscious cos everyone - male, female...
Actually 30 hours labour would have been ok if the epidural worked. From what I hear, most mummies are quite relaxed once the epi takes effect.
I'm far more scared about the epi not working again this time round, than about the length of the labour. Cos hor, the pain is unbelievable when baby...
My older girl put me through 30 freaking hours of labour before coming out... =( And the worst part is that the gas, pethidine, and epidural ALL didn't work to relieve pain!
Hi, I'm not in UK so can't really help you there... but I've heard that their NHS system is pretty hellish..? I do subscribe to the UK version of Mother and Baby magazine, and from what I've read so far, under their NHS scheme pregnancies in UK are generally seen by midwives and/or GPs. You are...
It depends on where you are going to stay and what airlines you take.
I'm currently pregnant and staying in Europe. It is safe to fly and stay overseas, (altogether I have flown 6 times from 1st to end-2nd trimester, on long haul flights) but the main problem you will encounter is airline...
