[Singapore, August 2012] Liver cancer is the second most fatal cancer. Left untreated, most patients do not survive beyond 6 months.[SUP]1[/SUP] It is estimated to affect 14 out of 100,000 people every year in Singapore[SUP]2[/SUP].
The fourth most common cancer among men and third most common gastrointestinal tract cancer in men and women, mostly observed in the middle aged between 40s and 50s, and especially in men over 40.[SUP]3[/SUP] Worrying statistics have found that the number of fatty liver sufferers of young people in Singapore is increasing. Although this includes younger sufferers of chronic hepatitis B or C, alarming news has shown that fatty liver disease now also affects more young people who drink little or no alcohol.[SUP]4[/SUP]
