any mum got menses when still Breastfeeding?

I would like to know any BF mum got menses when still BF cos i had mine already. I heard someone said you wont have menses when you BF but how come i have? is it Normal?

me!! i had my mense on 3 months basis. means i got once whn baby 3rd month, once baby 6 months.. once 9 months.. n now 10 month i got it again.. so guess its back for monthly basis le lo..

somemore i was total breastfeeding sia.. was abit disappointed whn i saw my mense..

its normal la.. everyone's body is different. some ppl, breastfeed for 2 years, 2 years all no mense... some ppl, every month have menses le..

wow nice to hear that at least i know i am normal now. haha..... thought what happened to my body.

Hi Eileen, yup. I have menses too. Not regularly every month. It came on and off starting from 2nd month of breastfeeding until 3rd month. Now 5th month of BF, it has came back on and off again...... disappointing. Though the upside is, the flow is very light. Not heavy periods like those I had before I got pregnant. hope it stays like this.....:001_302: hated periods.....:eek:

Good ma come menses. all the dirty blood have to let go then will have new blood. Mine first 2 days heavy then aft that noraml just like my normal period.:tlaugh:

Even i got mine when ds was 4 mnths. It has become irregular with 40 days gap. Not sure abt the dates so i am just pissed off....:bmad:

yup. dirty blood go away. hope no cramps like those before I got preggy...

it varies from mummy to mummy. guess it's the hormones bah.... some will have regular periods like clockwork. others may have irregular ones. some totally dun have.

I just had my first menses 2 weeks ago on my 5th month after birth. Still total breastfeeding my gal. But during menses the milkflow super low till my gal drink not enough that I have to supplment wif formular. Now back to normal le. Hope it stop for another 5 mth. Hehe~~:shyxxx:

Ive got my period when my bb turns 6mths old. I heard pple say when the supply of bm we produce drop, period will come back.
True enough, cos bb started solid @ 6mths so the demand for bm drop n my period came back!!!!
When period is here, bm will dipped quite a bit. Aft my period is back for abt 4mths+, i conceived the next bb!!!!!
So even breastfeeding can be fertile too & not true that breastfeeding will prevent pregnancy. :001_302:

I was also exclusively breastfeeding when my menses returned. That was only about 3 months after i gave birth! Anyway, later it disappeared and came back only in Dec and then in Feb. Super irregular. I used to have my periods very regularly. I asked the lactation consultant and she said that it's normal to have period come back even if still breastfeeding because once the baby is older, she starts to have a longer period of time between feeds so there is a chance that the period might return. So for instance if your baby sleeps through the nite, then there's a high chance that your period will return early.

i'm having menses. this is abt 4mths after i gave birth. milk supply is low now. i'm so worried if milk supply isnt enuf for my boy. and i'm worried if supply may not increase after menses ends.....

don worry.. milk supply will goes up again whn menses is over as long as demand remains..
