Anyone TTC by IUI?

justforgags, just to share with u my gynae that time mention that no point doing IUI bcos a lot of sperms will be wasted during the 'washing'. So he suggested IVF straight away so as not not to waste money.

My suggestion is that ur hubby can see a male fertility specialist first to check any tubes blockage. But warning to ur hubby is that the checking can be quite painful as it requires scanning as well.

I think I read somewhere saying male infertility harder to cure, as compared to female infertilty.
Think your hubby is 2 hard on himself... give yourselves time to think and explore the available options, before jumping into it. Get advice from the male specialist doc... TTSH have... perhaps as 2nd opinion from your gynae.
Read somewhere about IUI... the success rate is very low for male infertility case, cos' the clinic "washes" the sperm... hoping to get the active sperm in this process. End of the day, it's "no harm trying" from gynae point of view.
For IVF in male infertiliy cases, my dw was telling me they use donor sperm from the sperm bank. I didn't check to confirm this info though.

Our 1st opinion we got r frm the JE TCM sayin tat im the one who causes delay to get pregnant n my hubby only got morphology prob n 2nd frm SGH sayin tat im fine n egg r growing in a norm size n my DH has got azoospermia.. We freaked out now n in total confusion.. So thx for info n i try chk it out..

i seriously tink you should go for 3rd opinion if both have diff findings.....

why dont you try Thomson Medical Center Dr Cheng ? you rem that time alot of them went to see him and malynsha (did i spell wrongly?) got preggie after seeing him ????? i tink you should find a more reliable gynae.....

Went to check myself... since no luck with 2nd kid... got Kandang Kerbau Hospital gynae to refer... but still fall under private patient, unless you're subsidized. So I think it's the same if you call and make appt on your own.
1st appt ask me do ultrasound scan on my testicles liaoo ... dont know what the heck was that initially, so just follow doc's instructions... went to a separate clinic in TTSH... quite posh... quite EX... I think around $500.... and a female specialist attended to me... sibei paiseh... really use the gel and scan thingy.... like those for pregnancies! No pain lahh... got TV to watch over my head... my dw was laughing away when I told her my experience... duh... the things I do to satisfy her baby craving...
2nd appt to review the results... doc says nothing wrong with my testicles... gave some hormones pills... and advice to have healthy lifestyle... say healthy ppl also will have prob having kids, due to health reason, stress and age of both spouses... review in a your's time...
So $$ down the drain... no miracle pill to make babies.
But at least me and dw explored our options... so we're fine with it... just let nature takes it's course.

Yah, I did the sperm analysis 2...@ KKH... not zero %... but not on high side either.
So tell your hubby no need so depressed lahh

Not really pain la.... but after my 2nd IUI in March.... my stomach bloats till now... so ugly got tummy and i put on weight too:embarrassed:

yaaa...depends on your ovulation yaaaaa.....for my 1st IUI, i injected from day 2-16.........my 2nd IUI day2-14.......

mine is 300ml = $350 .....SUPER EXPENSIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


for my 1st IUI--i spent 4k (includes all consulation, med, jabs etc)

for 2nd IUI--i spent 3k (oso includes evyting)....

I've been "no action" for a while... no IUI, juz basic monitoring of ovulation then do IT. Tried that last month, no good news... AF came. So juz tried it tis month again, praying for good news. Will soon know if AF will report or not... hmm, another 1 and 1/2 week wait...

DH say dun haf nvm....but i wish to try....at least i know i've done evyting i can...no regrets when i tink back yaaaaaa....

but DH is super busy at work.....i dun get to see him during weekdays...he reach home ard 3-4am...me already in dreamland liaoooo...his project will end Dec......so meanwhile, i'm going TCM @ parkway (went there last week) to "tiao" my body while waiting for DH loohhhhhhh......

Ya, think it's good to take a break... I feel less stress now that I'm on break frm procedures. Take the opp to "tiao" your body 1st... I dun quite like herbal medicine, so hv not decided to try TCM yet.

i did the IUI on day 15...nope the doc never say how many eggs i have...she insert the catheter..i didnt feel anything..i just breath in and out and tats it...unlike the HSG...i breath in and out i still feel the pain...and i also develop fever on the day after i did my HSG...

btw can i know which gynae your seeing..

you'are not the only one....the 1st time when gynae very-scan...i was shocked....then i 'EeEEeEEeEE'.....dear husband thought its very pain lehhh.....then gynae shoot me back "you've to get used to gynae visits, most of the time, they will very-scan" .......zzzzzzzzzzzz.......maybe cos i was feeling very uncomfortable, then she got pekchek and find me incorporative....tats why say such ting......

got HSG test...its worse....you've to open your legs big big...then they insert the tube in and inject the dye.......you've to lie there while they check using those x-ray machine...but you also can see the "tv" of your tube, the dye etc.....at least, can divert your attention abit.....:001_302:

my HSG was done by a guy sm more lehh...no choice, no female doc on duty on tat day....but of cos, got a female nurse wif me laaaaaa

ny HSG was done by a female, in the mrning. then in the evening, i started 2 hv cramps. smmore it lasted for 2 days. sigh...
heng! the results showed tat my tubes r ok...
but b4 i receive my results, i went 2 consult my chinese sinseh 2 get some TCM, she told me tat my tubes r ok.
wow! so 'shen qi' hor! fr 'ba mai', can koe tis type of thing liao...

May I know who is ur gynae? Can recommend to me?
I was thinking of doing HSG but heard it was very painful.
Worse still, I cant even do vaginal scan or pap smear, it was very painful to me.
