At what age does yr child sleep on his/her own bed?

my son is 18mths+. currently he's sleeping on a mattress on the floor. but his sleeping position is so unpredictable sometimes he can roll off the mattress & when he roll off the mattress he will wake up & cry. once he even roll off & bump his head on the floor.

i was thinking should i get a single bed with rails at both sides to prevent him from falling off the bed instead of sleeping on the floor?

Both my kids slept in cots followed by own beds since NB. I think it's good to have a proper bed if you don't have space constraints.

My babies were in their own cots since they were born. Thereafter, they slept in playpens until the playpen was too small for them, then I moved them to a sofa bed. Since my elder kids were 6 and 4, I moved them to a 2 tiers single bed, where the lower bed can be conveniently pushed under the upper bed to save space. My 14 mth old is still sleeping in his playpen.
