Actually, how about trying to cut the hair yourself? My younger son is almost 20 months old and I've been cutting his hair myself. Hubby bought a pair of scissors specially for cutting hair. I let baby sleep on bed, and when he's sound asleep I slip a large sheet of cloth/waterproof sheet under his head and snip away. I use my left hand as a gauge, put my palm on his head, with his hair coming up between the fingers, and snip off those. This way the hair's length will end up being same as the thickness of my palm/fingers.

Don't know if I managed to explain it properly or not.......

I bring my elder son to this place at Katong Mall B1, called Kitz Connexion (Tel: 6346 4468). They specialise in cutting for kids, used to be at Parkway Parade but moved out when rental was raised. Can't remember the charges, you can call up if interested.

I bring mine to Junior League - Suntec level 3, United Square level 1, ... think there are some more...

They are kids-friendly.. toys available, TV with cartoons to watch for every seat to provide entertainment and distraction. Most importantly, they use child friendly and very safe shaver (will NOT cut into flesh).

Quite expensive though, price has been going up, it's $20 at United Square (my 2-yo boy just had his second 'pro' haircut last evening there!) but definitely much better than when I cut it myself :tlaugh:

it's ok if ur boy cant sit still. i've seen parents carrying their kids while the hairstylist cut the kids' hair.

We just went to Kitz Connexion this evening. Great service and highly recommended. My baby is only 3wks and he just slept thru despite hearing the shaving machine trimming his hair. They cater specifically for children of all ages.
Location at Roxy Square (near katong), #01-60.

You could give this new family cum children salon a try. It's called 'pout'. Kids like this place because of the sports car, colourful and playful shop design and the usual DVD entertainment. www.pout.com.sg.

And because it is also a family salon, everyone who needs a hair fix can get it done at the same time.

I brought my boy to EC house at clementi mall for a haircut. They have a kids corner with tv screen and the seat is a coin-operated jeep. The kids get a free ride after the haircut. Price: $10.
My boy is 13 mths.
