For me I think I am stopping at 2 but in case I change my mind... I am thinking of a reversible IUD. As for oral contraception, I am worried about missing a pill or something

i used to have this problem too about worried that i might miss the pill.... so i set an alarm to remind me everyday, same time and i left the pills at a place where i will always see before i go to bed....
usually if u missed one, you quickly take it the next morning and continue at nite should not be a problem.. but if u missed 2pills Consecutively then u can junk the whole box away...

Hi mummies. IUD can be done at the poly which is much much cheaper. IUCD is available at all NHG Polyclinics (except Clementi Polyclinic). The device can last for three years.
For IUCD insertion, please ensure that a Pap smear test has been performed within the past year and result of pap smear test is normal. You are required to bring the Pap smear result along during your visit for the IUCD removal and insertion.
IUCD insertion is to be performed during moderate menstruation flow (i.e. 3rd day of the menses)
The cost of IUCD insertion is$60 for Singaporean, $68 for Permanent Residents and $78 for Non-Residents inclusive of doctor consultation.

I haven decide to go for copper IUD or mirena yet.. Should be going for copper IUD as it's non-hormonal.. Cuz I'm breastfeeding,not sure if the mirena will effect breastmilk.. Will be going for pap smear test 1st then,since haven done it b4.. I tot copper IUD will last 3-5yrs? Mirena last 3yrs rite?

Yes I totally agree with not doing anything permanent. I've been taking pills and by far they're doing just fine in my system.

I went for my 6th week check up last week.. polyclinic dun allow me to insert IUD tat day,so disappointed with the staff there,diff staff gave me diff versions of information for the IUD.. guess i will call up KKH to ask then,wonder if can do at KKH.. should be need to do a pap smear 1st before doing IUD.. does both require menses day to perform it? i was told pap smear needs,but not sure abt IUD as the staff all misleading anyhow..
the IUD can only be inserted after menses come isit? i am TBF also..menses came once during the 1st mnth..mi boi is goin on to his 6th mnth bt the red river flow has yet to visit mi..

Hi all,I went to KKH last Monday to have my IUCD inserted. I went polyclinic for pap smear test less than a month ago n asked for KKH referral to insert instead of doing it at polyclinic. Pap smear costed me $20+ while IUCD insertion at KKH clinic B (private rate) total bill $180+.
Polyclinics only have the 3yr type IUCD n requires u to have menses to insert as they are not specialist. While KKH gynaes can insert a 3yr or 5yr IUCD no matter u have menses anot.this was told to me by the senior nurse at polyclinic who did my pap smear test.in fact,when I went to make appointment for KKH IUCD insertion,they really didn't ask when is my menses date n stuff. I chose a senior gynae at specialist clinic rather than polyclinic fresh grads doctors after all that messy medical information given from the polyclinic staff.
I'm still having spotting till now,4th day after insertion,bad cramps on n off. Is this normal n how long will it last?

poly, they will insert onli if got menses..kk will insert afta doing pregnancy test and it comes negative,of cz..inserted today..havin bad cramps..heard will haf bad cramps during menses,i hope its not true..

has anyone inserted diz while TBF??? and i heard sumtimes the guys can feel the pain,mi neighbour jz mentioned yst a couple,while havin sex..the guy ended up being in severe pain cz he was 'poked' by the metal thing..so funny..the female took out after jz a week of insertion..is it tt bad?? hmmm..

Hmm,i asked the nurse n doc when i went for insertion,they did said have alot ladies removed v soon after insertion. due to too pain while sex(either hubby or ownself feel pain) or menses all that reasons. I only felt the "string" inside when sex,my hubby din feel anything from start. I had endured major cramps in the 1st month of insertion,spotting stopped after 1st 2weeks. 1st mth after insertion was way chaos,i was forced to bed-rest for the 1st 3days of menses as i cant even move my body due to cramps. 2nd mth got better,3rd mths onwards dun feel a single thing when doing anything.
