Hi, mee too! i am staying in bishan and have placed my child in Agape Little Uni @ central at sin ming lane, midview city.
my son has been there for close to a year and a half and i have noticed a tremendous improvement in him. He has become very vocal and his language and maths are so good that i think he will have no problems going to primary one.

highly recommend this school though its new. :)
they have limited vacancies right now.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica][FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Hi Mummies,
Happy New Year to all!

I saw this new preschool called Giving Tre3 when I went to Thomson Plaza last week. I think their webpage is www.givingtre3.com. It was next to Thomson Plaza along the main road. Its a new preschool cum enrichment centre opening in Jan 2013. I decided to go drop by unannounced cos just nice my boy turning 3 next year and I want to put him in Nursery. The lady was very nice and friendly and showed me around the place.

I must say, I loved that place alot!! It was not very big with only 3 classrooms, 1 class being dedicated as a computer lab for their reading enrichment programme and 2 other classrooms. But it was very cosy! Like a home feeling. Their boss is also very sweet and she shared that she's been in the early childhood industry for more than 12 years. I don't really like those big organisations cos most of them just care about the business and making money but I could feel her passion for children even through talking to her.

They also have an outdoor area, although not very big with water and sand play. It was really nicely done up!

They also had reading enrichment and Pri Sch Preparatory programmes. Their reading enrichment programme is from Australia and its partially an online lesson. I think the name is Reading Eggs. Seems very interesting cos I went to the reading eggs website just now and the lessons were very fun. My girl quite likes to play on the computer and I think this will attract her. Besides having the online lessons, the teachers will also conduct activities in the classroom. I think will be a good balance.

They also have this Pri Sch preparatory programme that teaches grammar, maths, comprehension and creative writing to prep kids for P1. Sounds quite good too cos besides English and Maths, they also have this social and emotional learning lessons, something like learning how to listen, problem solving skills, focusing and paying attention etc. Which I feel my girl will need help in....she's quite hyper and can't really focus on a task for long.

They having opening promo now. Got waiver off registration fees and discounts too. I've decided to sign my kids up cos they have sibling discounts too.

Dear all,

I'm a mother of two, 2009 and 2010 boys and am staying in Toa Payoh Central.
I'm somewhat a FTWM as I had recently set up my own childcare centre along Bendemeer Road. I set this up as I was not very satisfied with the quality of my children's previous school and that is quite a well-known chain!

Parents who are interested in finding a good childcare centre, offering an unique and trusted curriculum can pm me.

Visit our FB page for more information: www.facebook.com/amebaschoolhouse.

Since we are staying in this area, shall we organise something casual? I noticed that quite a number of residents had decided to have parties at void decks now. Should we do something like that?

Hi mummies,

I am new but I live near this area and I am wondering if any of you could help. I have a child who is seeking help in terms of composition writing. I am not sure if children are of 2004, but I received quite a big impact from p4 to p5. At first was quite bad for all her subjects but I have managed to find someone from recommendations to help her with maths and science concepts application, thankfully, an experienced person who is managed to plan ahead all the way to PSLE otherwise I'll be quite lost.... "."l Studies are quite a headache but I am lucky now for both maths and science, quite challenging for me, so far on track for both but not the languages, if any kind parents would help recommend someone reliable to zara.ho@yandex.com BUT no agencies, thank you! Personally prefer someone who parents already had relationships with and if you any of you need help in these areas, maybe I could lend a helping hand. I think this is what parents connection are for, sharing and helping. Nowadays everyone is so busy and a reliable, experience and competent assistance sometimes need luck, give me some of yours???? hehe, I might give some too! Please email, email only!!! Thanks in advance

Posting on behalf of my tutor friend :

Dear Parents/Students,

I am a freelance Chinese Male tutor who has 15 years of tutoring experienced and specialized in teaching Upper Primary & Secondary A & E Mathematics (Express / Normal Academic). I graduated with a Degree with Honours in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
I have good teaching track records and am currently giving individual tuition. My lessons are made easy to understand and I comprehend the lessons in an effective method. I’m a patient, dedicated & passionate tutor in teaching. In my years of teaching experienced, I’ve helped many students along their difficult pace & motivate them towards their desired goals.

My teaching methodology are as follows :
1) Topic-by-topic discussion & helping strategies to enable them to identify the correct heuristic techniques & solve math’s problem sums independently and confidently.
2) Methods will be simplified for students to understand without deviating from the basic & fundamental of each question.
3) Problem solving techniques with right learning strategies & preferred learning style that caters to student’s learning pace as each child is unique.
4) Customized learning materials & lesson plans with concise explanation.
5) Target students’ specific weakness and coach progressively with varied assessments.

Group tuition is available at Sengkang or Punggol. Lesson will commence once 2 students sign up for each class (to a maximum of 3 students in a group only). With a small number in a group, this will enable me to focus attention and coach the individual child’s progress and pace.
Fees for Upper Primary Maths : $160/pax for 4 lessons (2hrs each)
Fees for Secondary 1 & 2 Maths : $200/pax for 4 lessons (2 hrs each)
Fees for Secondary 3 & 4 (E & A Maths) : $240 for 4 lessons (2 hrs each)
· Timing of the group tuition can be discussed after confirmation of students.

Private tuition is available and slots are limited. If you prefer me to travel to your location, this alternative can be arranged at your convenience too. Registration for tuition starts now.

For more information, you may email your enquiries to: chungsiangtey@yahoo.com.sg or call/watsaap/message me at : 97770834.

I hope to work together with you and help improve your child’s academic results.

Thank You
