Blood Donation

Just heard on the news that blood donors are still needed desperately to keep on donating. I am due to donate in early April, and certainly intend to go unless I am not well.
My daughter in law works for the National Blood Service, and says they have not been so busy as appointments have been cancelled, particularly by the older donors I expect.

Hello. A bold decision, I support you. Not everyone will agree to be donors, especially knowing what the situation is in hospitals. I'm also thinking of going and donating blood in the next few days, but I'm afraid of losing consciousness at the sight of raw blood, and I'm also afraid of blood poisoning. I understand that everything is sterile, but the thoughts that something can go wrong do not leave me. I hope before the blood donation, I will be lucky and nothing will be canceled. I want to read more about this procedure before going there.
