Hi Mommies, I'm new here. Had my first baby outside of Singapore hence I need some advice on delivering baby in singapore.
First of all, can anyone tell me their experiences about Dr. Paul Tseng of Thomson Medical Centre and how much does he charge? Other than him, any other good recommendation?
THanks.

Hi there

congrats!

I had my baby delivered in Mt A Hospital by Dr Paul Tseng. Nice & quiet gynae :)
33 hr of labour delivered naturally.

An acquaintance had a VBAC done by Dr Paul Tseng too. If you are very pro-natural, Dr Paul is the gynae.

I think 2009 fees were $53 per visit without scan, abt $100 with scan done by Dr Paul. Oscar test $400-500 done by lab technician. Delivery fees : $2000-3000+, depends on type of delivery. You can ask clinic assistant for price list.

Hi ping26,
Thx for the info, it's pleasing to hear good review about Dr Paul Tseng.
Wow 33 hours of labour, my first delivery was 24 hours. People say subsequent delivery would be shorter, fingers crossed.

Hi,

I just delivered with Dr Paul on 19th Jan 2011. My labour was almost 48 hours... and baby Ian finally came naturally under Dr Paul's guidance. He weigh in 4.1kg at birth. I can tell you Dr Paul is a fantastic doctor.. full of patience and love. I was experiencing contractions on 17th midnight, went to TMC to check only 1cm dilated. Nurse wanted to admit me but I insisted her to call Dr Paul and he allowed me to go home to wait it out. Contractions became worse and worse on 18th afternoon, went back to TMC and still 1cm.. so I headed back again.. after that it was very very bad and we went in on 19th 3.30am and guess what? its only 1.5 cm.. wanted to die at this point.. end up I was finally admitted.. and gave birth at 4.35pm on 19th January. Although end up didn't really follow my birth plan, Dr Paul was still committed to helping me give birth naturally although it was a big baby. He also stood by my wishes not to have an episotomy, instead let my perenium tear naturally..His stiching is also great and 1 week later, my wound is almost healed with not much pain. If other doctor, I am sure I would have delivered via C-sect.. which is something I definitely do not want... Go for Doctor Paul, if you want a natural, without excessive drugging and medical intervention birth..

His charge was around 2.2K and total hospital bill incld his specialist charge was around 6.5k for premier 1 bedded room.

that's right, my first one lasted 13h, and my second one less than 4h! My 2 kids were delivered by Dr Paul and everything went smoothly. I had natural delivery for both of them.

Hi,
I delivered with dr. Paul on 10 Oct 2010. Initially was prepared for the natural birth (that's why I chose him!) but end up with emergency c-sect coz my dd turned her head back. Sigh! can;t y ou imagine ? She was engaged on my last visit to dr. Paul, and yet she turned her head. :(

It was 5cm dilated within 10hours, before the nurse found out. :-(

For my second one, i would liket to have birth plan with dr. Paul, and first thing to note down when I arrived at hospital is to get a scan if my bb still engaged!

I must say dr. Paul is a awesome gynae. He is very patient and ensureing during the chaos of my delivery.. ha ha haa.. But I would like to complain on the nurse though as they should do some scan and raise any concern earlier, they do VE when I came, they did suspect something amiss, but they didn't do anything, keep asking me to wait and go to my ward.. haiz..

My experience with him is two-tumb :) he is a pro-breastfeeding, he helped me through my hardest time on the breast feeding. :)

I would for sure come back to him on my second .. Love HIM :)

Dr.Paul delivered my 1st boy in Nov 2009..Agree with the rest of the mummies wen they say that he's a very patient gynae.Unfortunately had to deliver by emergency c-sect as my boy had pooed whilst still in my tummy.Dr.Paul was very assuring and spoke in a very calm manner and explained the situation to both me and hubby.

I am currently expecting my No.2 and he's still my gynae of choice..!! In fact,i have an appt with him tomorrow..!! :001_302:

Hi, I met Dr Paul Tseng yesterday...we essentially just started trying.

I must say he is a very informative and positive doctor...He gives you the right vibes and definitely knows what he is doing.
He gave us good hope that we will conceive soon if we follow his ovulation calculation (of course, other factors not included)

I compared him to many Doctors from those to Gleneagles & Mount E with a great track record before deciding to see him as my Gynae..and have no regrets.

He is one of the best Gynae's in town indeed!

Good luck ladies!

Hi SuMum

I had my girl with Dr Paul too. A drug free birth. He's great, supportive and a very pro natural birth gynae. Followed through the birth plan we submitted.

Good luck!

A birth plan provides a list of labor, and postpartum options to discuss with your gynae from 34 weeks. You can indicate what you would like to happen during your labour and after your baby's born. Hence in my birth plan, I indicate to use a birth stool and that I want a drug free birth. Immediate breast feeding for the first hour when child is born. Things like that.

I am currently under his care now, going to pop in mid feb.
Overall, he is a calm doctor, explaining all the stuff.
Somehow I do have a preference over male doctors. They are more in situation control?

Compared to other doctors (with my colleagues) and my experience with backup gynae on the ground level of TMC,
his pricing is one of the most reasonable.
No package, but it works fine for me.

He would actually ask you if you want to scan or just listen to heartbeat.
No charges for listening to hearbeat only.

He didn't hard sell any supplement to me, only to ask me change from folic acid to mutli vitamin after my 1st trimester.
The rest of fish oil and Ca pills, the nurse will just causally ask you if you want.

Just visited him today, the clinic is crowded in the morning!

babystarz or anyone under Dr Paul Tseng. I tried calling his clinic to make an appointment but apparently no one ever will answer the phone. it is either u go down to the clinic for emergency or email to make an appointment. does not really make sense to me. does it really work this way?

Try calling again. Cos my first appointment was done through phone. Avoid morning period as it is very crowded.. The cashier is usually the one setting appointment so she can get very busy.
