Hi all,
I'm seeing dr. wee horng yen at KKH, he seems to be a good doctor, very patient..
i have a question, my friend told me usually doctor will offer a package for our antenatal, but i checked with the admission counter, they said KK doesn't offer any antenatal package, is that true?
please share your experience..please share how much will the total bill size at KK as for my planning..thanks..

My gynae was Dr Wee too. I like him cos he's very patient and detailed. Do u mean antenatal package as in for regular check-ups or delivery package? I took the Private Suite and was on the Premium package for delivery. Dr Wee delivered my daughter. Had to pay $2000 cash deposit and the rest was deducted by Medisave. Total bill for delivery was about $7k but all medisave deducted.

sorry to ask you..7000 is during delivery only or from beginning of pregnancy until delivery?

I juz went to the kkh clinic at amk last nite to check on the rates.. they told mi that there will no antenatal package. The 1st visit consultation charges are $95 for senior consultant, $85 for consultant, $75 for specialist. Follow up visits are $70, $59, $50 (if i remember correctly). Didnt tell mi how much are the scans all those..

KK doesn't offer any antenatal package. I'm see doctor wee now but my total estimate bill size I have not calculated yet. Per visit including vitamins is around 100++, for oscar scan is around 300++

there's no antenatal package. $7000 is only for delivery... exclude consultations with Dr Wee/scans/medication.

so is there any difference in A1 and A1 Premier Package?
Cause the estimated bill they should me not so much leh around 4k to 5k before deducting the medisave

A1 premier is Dr Wee will be delivering ur baby for u no matter what time the delivery. For me I was induced and I took epidural and painkillers n assisted delivery with vacuum that's y my bill ard $7k

Hi,

I am also consulting Dr Wee in private suite and he is a great doctor... My EDD is mid march and i am checking for wards these days...I have been told by KK that the charges for A1 ward are around 5k (2 days) out of which 2k has to be paid upfront in cash and rest can be used from medisave...

However, i guess this doesn't include birth plan options like Epidural, induce labor etc...

7K is on higher side but KK is far reasonable than other hospitals depending on what birth plan is recommended and availed...

I am still deciding whether to go for A1 ward for B1 as the difference is of about SGD ~ 900 excluding birth plans....pls share your views on whether to OPT A1 or B1..

Dr Wee delivers the baby in these 2 wards for Premier package patients so not much choice... Not sure if any inpatient discount is given to the patient?

I just give birth on jan 16 and i was induced at week 39 staying in A1 ward using only the gas mask.. I paid 2k plus in cash balance by cpf ( total bill size estimate is 5k) during the reservation of ward but end up they refund me cheque of $1100 plus..

I also see ing Dr. Wee about 2 years ago (2010). I wish for normal delivery but end up with caesarian since already induced but not success. I cannot remember I pay how much. But they get 1 list of price in different colour paper which you can choose. I choose the one that I want my Gynae that help me with delivery (I think this is premium or premier :))

Dr. Wee is very nice, friendly, detail

Now I hear he move to Novena Medical Centre

Yap Dr Wee has moved to Novena Medical Centre. I too , agreed that he is very nice & friendly. Most importantly he is very experienced. My elder daughter was delievered by him in May 2011 subsequently my twins were delievered by him in Aug 2012 - all normal delivery! My 2nd twin was breech and Dr Wee delievered her beautifully with his magic hands! And Yes! without Epidural...

He is one gynae whom you know your babies will be safe under his care. :Dancing_wub:

I had made an appt to see him nxt thurs..

Anyone still seeing him currently or recently?

Is it painful wen he had to perform the episiotomy or stitching? How long does it takes to heal for u?

I'm seeing Dr Wee now for my second pregnancy. I didn't feel anything probably cos I had epidural when he did the epi and stitching for my first delivery. It took about 1 week to not feel the stinging and 2 weeks to heal completely.
