Mine is totally the opposite... had eczema all along but during both my pregnancies, it went away completely but came back again a few months after i gave birth. As advised by my skin specialist, you can only apply moisturiser on a frequent basis, like once before you sleep and once in the middle of the night if the itch comes back... not the normal type of moisturiser, you can try Cetaphil Lotion Moisturiser, cost about $18 for a small bottle... can easily get at guardian pharmacy. Its very rich so can last for the whole night for me. As for the eczema, it will go away after the birth of your baby and hopefully no scars... by the way, is your pregnancy a boy??? Cos i heard from old ppl that this eczema thingy normal occurs mainly in boy cases, my aunt is a good eg.

Did you use any stretch mark cream? If yes, it could be the stretch mark cream that caused it. During my 1st pregnancy, used palmers stretch mark cream and suffered very bad rashes. Went to the gynae, prescribed cream to apply, after a week the rashes went off.

Please do not scratch when it itch, the more you scrch, the more rashes you have. Mayb u wanna try apply some caromile lotion, hope it helps to relieves the itch.

Yesh i did use stretch mark cream! and yesh it's palmers. Budden, i finished almost 2 tubes then the rashes develops, so i don think it's the stretch mark creams tht cause the rash right ??

but i stop using it a few days, rashes still come back, still itchy... so i resume using it again....

applied a layer after shower each time, then as and when it itch again, i'll use calamine lotion.....

HAIS, a BIG BIG ITCHY RED RED tummy.... -_-''

I heard a lot of feedback from friends they suffered rashes when using palmers stretch mark cream. I suffered rashes after using for a few weeks. after i recovered. 6 weeks later, i tried the palmers cream again. The following day i suffer from rashes again, confirmed i cannot use palmers cream. So i switched to other stretch mark cream, no more rashes.
My gynae prescribe Fucidin ointment (if i remember correctly) to treat the rashes.

Well i cannot says is the stretch mark creams cause the problem. You gotta find out urself, try using others stretch mark cream, tat is the only way out. Stop using the palmers cream, let the rashes heal completely. then let ur skin rest for a few weeks, then apply palmers cream. if rashes return, stop it immediately. When rashes healed, try others cream, if no rashes means is palmers cream cause the problem.

Please dun scratch. the more u scratch, the more rashes u hv, how to heal? u can try using ur palm to soh soh ur tummy when itch (this is what i do). if not you can try asking ur gynae to prescribe some anti itch medicine to stop the itch.

Hmm.. im not sure if im getting any eczema currently coz i dunno how it looks like..

2 weeks ago, both of my feets start to have red patches. den it gets itchy at times. usually is very early in the morning and when im going to slp. when i scratch it, it spreading.. den start to have lotsa small "popping up" pimple like all around... in between the toes.. on the surface of my feet.. now, my fingers has a little..

told my gynae about this, he gave me those anti-flammable cream. but its not improving at all. now, both feet top part (where toes and the joints are) are losing its sense of feel. i used my finger nails to poke hardly, no feel at all.

im like, totally lost coz i dunno what happened to my feets. the skin on my feets starting to crumple like a pre-mature new born baby skin type. it does scares me alot. but i was thinking whether there's anything got to do with my hormones since im in my tri2 now. feet swelling red now. =(

I had eczema before pregnancy but started having eczema on my hands during pregnancy. I used to get it in the past and I'm expecting a girl. So don't think sex has anything to do with eczema.

It's good to do a blood test to find out what you are sensitive to. I found that that my body is intolerant to eggs and dairy and that triggers off my eczema.

i developed rashes on my face twice. The first time lasted for about three days, and it affected only a small area of my face.

The second time was bad. My entire face was red and blotchy and itched like crazy. The redness subsided the second day, but the tiny raised spots were highly visible. I suffered the terrible itch for five days. I could not scratch myself. I could only relieve the torment by scratching my husband's back which he enjoyed a lot.

I checked with my gynae. He says it's perfectly normal for rashes to appear anywhere during pregnancy...

Hi mummies..Noticed that ive developed eczema while currently pregnant with my No.2...Didnt have this problem wen i was pregnant with my No.1 altho my boy has eczema on and off throughout his 13months..!!!

Red scaly patches would appear on the the joints of my arms and elbows..Gynae advised me to put any type of moisturiser and its perfectly normal to experience eczema during pregnany..Rest assured this skin problem is NOT contagious so im not worried while carrying my boy..!!

Hope it will disappear after i give birth coz it itches like HELL..!!! :wong1:

I experience red itchy rashes on my tummy, bra line, hips, legs, shoulder, back... Wondering if this is called eczema...
I just bought Johnson baby oil yesterday as i heard that stretch mark cream has no effect on stretch marks. Is that true?
