hi, im using fungicort + propolis balm. i used the propolis balm as the moisturizer because i tried other moisturizer but this is the only one that can heal the redness and itchiness for her.. fungicort was given by a pedia at kclinic at kk and the propolis balm was introduced to me by one of the mummy here which i find very good for her. i also changed her bath soap to qv or any other non soap base wash. again babies are different from others. rashes still come and go but not that severe anymore. she's allergic to chicken and fish and once i let her taste it just a bit the rashes will appear and it would take around 3-4 days to clear.

Both my son and I have eczema, now under good control.

Most important thing is to find out the root cause of the eczema flare-ups.
Common causes: dry skin, dust mites, chemicals in personal care products, food triggers/allergies
If the root cause is not removed, no miracle cream or medicine will help for the long-term.

if you're still breastfeeding, pls continue till your gal is at least 2 yrs.... my son has eczema but quite mild... i breastfed him for 13mths at the advice of my paedi... he is much better after his 1 yr old bday...

I use Physigel for his moisturier (cream, lotion & AI cream + intensive lotion... depends on rashes' severity) and shower gel & shampoo - it works the best for my son... https://www.physiogelrepair.com/#/skincare_collection/

it really depends on individual child.
Pls do refrain from eating seafood & peanuts if you're still breastfeeding and don't feed them such food, including sambal chill..

Last month my girl oso started to have itchy rashes, esp under armpit, on arms, legs and back. We brought her to clinic at TPY, doc said shd be Eczema, besides giving us some medication (think mostly are running nose medicine, cos like adult, flu medicine can cure allergy and itch). She oso recommended we buy the Nivea cream for her to use, to keep her skin moisturised. I asked whether can use baby oil, she said not.

So I bought the Nivea cream (the blue color tin small $2.10) from TPY on way home, and diligently apply for her few times throughout the day. By the next day, her rashes and itch comes down.

U may want to try Nivea cream. (i choose the thick one instead of the soft cream).

I have no personal experience with eczema but a few ladies from the forum were discussing it and I was doing some reading up, and came across a few interesting articles about using: GET THIS- BLEACH. Apparently some studies suggest giving your child a bath with diluted bleach can help with relieving the itch.

I know it sounds..harsh but it's like swimming in a public pool. I clean my kids toys and baby bottles with Clorox bleach as well, and bleach dries off without leaving any residue so it's safe.

Perhaps something worth thinking about?

This article appears to be AGAINST bleach baths but please read the comments left by many parents with children suffering from eczema who say the bleach baths have been very effective

The one I bought is for adult one, is called Nivea creme, blue tin, round shape, only thingy wrote on top of the tin is just "NIVEA Creme". I bought the small one (got 2 sizes) cos at first I not sure whether it work or not. It cost about $2.10, think any NTUC would have. Its quite thick and creamy.

There is another Nivea Soft cream (plastic white), I also bought that one later after my girl recovered. But think the first one is better if really got eczema.

On the first day, I applied every 3 hourly, I rubbed in circular motion to ensure the cream is absorbed (cos its really quite thick).

I only applied on the affected areas. Immediately after first application, my girl can feel the itch easing. By the next day, can tell that the rashes going off, it took about 3 days for it to completely ok. My girl got it on Thursday, at first only one patch near the arm, then spread to armpit, legs and back. At first we thought is some allergy, tats why sunday morning that brought her see doc. B4 see doc, I tried vinegar, salt water (cos can kill germs), listerin (hahaha, when desperate everything oso try), and also mopiko, calamai lotion and some other strong creams my doc gv me for my own allergy, all failed.

Think if it work for you, within 24 hours can feel the itch going away, and within 3 days shd be ok.

Started was a patch at around my gal's wrist.then sparate to the fold of the arms n other hand.sometime very red, sometime no.. I will try the nivea cream to c how.. Coz I applied the lotion from skin specialist for 1week le,stil nt better, become more.I called the doctor juz now,he asked me to continue.but I want to try sometg that really better for her.haiz.. So did the doctor gv ur child steroid cream n antibiotic to apply? N medicine for itchy? Hopefully 3days later can c my gal's hands better le..

Do Any mummy use Cethapil moisture cream for treating eczema??

My 2nd son(7yo) has eczema. Sent him to National Skin Centre 5 weeks ago & received:

1) Hydroxyzine syrup (oral med for itch)
2) Elomet Cream for rashes behind knees(thin skin areas)
3) Fucicort Antibiotic/Cortocosteroid Cream for rashes on other areas
4) Physiogel Cream for dry areas in the daytime
5) QV Cream for dry areas in the nighttime
6) Cetaphil cleanser for bathing

Total bill $180! *sigh*

Doctor also advised us to get rid of dust mite by either washing his bedsheets in 60deg warm water or using the dryer after washing the bedsheets. But we haven't done this yet hehe!

His eczema is under control & getting less, although he still scratches when we forgot to give him his med or to apply creams for him. Plus, the ultra hot weather these past few days is not helping.

Next appointment is this Friday. We'll see what the National Skin Centre doctor will do next.

my girl used within 24 hrs got improvement. In fact, she immediately felt better after applying. Sad to hear that your girl din response to it. If u girl din feel the same, then maybe its not suitable for her. U got rub it in? Mayb u want bring her go see doc again?

The week before my girl got it, she went swimming (she seldom go swimming, 1st X for last 2 yrs), so the chlorine could be the caused of it.

My son's doctor is Dr Lim Yen Loo frm Clinic A. The meds she prescribed seems to be working, just that we always forget to give my son his med or to apply his creams faithfully. Then the eczema starts again...*sigh*
