Hi autumn, I bought one size bigger than my normal size at size 8... Now I am worried it won't fit me especially size you described yourself.. I am only 1.63 and 55kg with this baby now! I bought 6 items at $155 with extra 10% discount. I am a bit excited to start wearing maternity clothes and be more comfortable.

Don't worry different clothes different cutting. For my case I have always prefer loose clothings. Size 12 on me Abit too loose also, but I prefer loose loose clothes. I actually planned to wear them in 3rd tri cuz I'm not showing yet... Only Abit bloated... I heard will only start showing from 6mths onwards... So I bought a larger size, it's longer too....

Autumnfall - oh dear, hope all is well with you now? I was put on drip today too coz was puking real bad last three days n was becoming dehydrated. Thank God the new anti-nausea drug seems more effective, for tonight at least.

Today I was poked many times for drip n for blood test but in the end didn't managed to draw any blood coz my veins are small n kept running. Gotta go back again on Sat to draw blood. Now both my arms are bruised. Turns out it's a routine anenatal check for mummies re Hep B, Ruebella, Haemoglobin etc n for baby, it's for Down's.

My baby is opposite from yours - kept moving n cringing so dr couldn't really take an accurate measurement of its length for dating. Don't worry, am sure ur baby is just slacking coz it's so comfy in u! :) Keep well!

Piglet, my baby is like you too! Kept moving around. Hehe.

By the way, I want to ask you guys, are we supposed to avoid cooling food?

Pigletbao I'm fine, leave is extended again for two weeks... Yay!!! But coughing has been real bad...

Ya... Do avoid cooling food like cold water, soft drinks... Etc I was addicted to cold drinks and desserts before I got sick and I think all these cold drinks made me sick. Now I only drink warm water... But if u take in moderation then shld be okay, I took cold drinks everyday, not wise to do so...

Alag - heard cooling food take in last trimester will be good but for now take in moderation or a little bit should be ok. :)

Autumnfall - Me too. ML until 19 Oct. At least don't need to puke at work... I should be getting ready for work the following week if the nausea stops...i had flu n cold too but subsided after 2 wks. Did take a bit of med here n there but gynae's main concern was fever. Yr fever subsided alrdy? Take care!

Ya my fever subsided Aldy, jus a nagging cough which refuses to go away, been coughing green phlegm but i read from the Internet that it's necessary to purge out these toxics. In e end I ate the medicine prescribed by the doctor, Bo Bian cuz the coughing was holding my hubby up all night...

My leave also ends 19 0ct, been on leave since 5 weeks ago, now Abit Paiseh to return to work next week... And I'm still nauseous, always cannot finish my food... So haven't had any weight gain... Am 14 weeks plus going to 15 weeks this Thursday... Haiz scared my baby is too small leh...

Hi All.. I am new here.. My EDD is Apr13.. I am so mad at TMC.. i went for 2 medical checkup.. during the 2nd check up.. my doc say she is nt comfortable handling me coz i have fits history.. argh!! I did my OSCAR too.. i was like..duhz.. y didden u tell me earlier during the 1st appt that you cant handle me.. i waste like close to 600 bucks! totally pissed..

Hi Belz, welcome. I'm at Thomson Medical Center and i find their service quite ok. Perhaps you want to go for other gynae at TMC. :)

Hey pigletbao and autumnfall, hope you ladies get well soon.. Autumnfall, I'm at 15 wk 2 days now and my weight is just at my normal weight (53.5 kg). I can't really take in much food (Just normal portion), but my dinner is really minimum. Don't feel paisay about returning to work next week, I'm sure all women understand. This is really the tough period. :)

I vomitted my dinner last night too. I'm not sure if it's because of the MacDonald i took in the afternoon (I don't usually take them but have sudden craving for it yesterday). But Gynae advise me strongly against any fast-food because of their food handling process. They also advise me to eat home more often but my mil's cooking doesnt really seems to suit my appetite now. :(

Anyway, I'm not sure if it's my own imagination or i really feel the baby movement on saturday. It's like some butterfly in your tummy and a little tingling.. Any mums feel their baby movement already? :)

Belz, so sorry to hear that, don't worry and conc on ur pregnancy now k? If u have a history of fits and pregnancy complications, I suggest u go to KK hospital as they are more specialised and experienced in handling emergency cases.

My gynae is Dr Kang Wee from Mt Alvernia, she's very nice and experienced, you might want to try her out. But I think KK hosp is still the best when it comes to pregnancy complications, cheap and trustworthy. Two times I was hospitalised and I went straight to KK hosp and I must say they are very thorough about their checks, I still stick to Dr Kang though cuz I'm more comfortable with her. She is very understanding but is also a very traditional woman... Maybe she can advise u on what to do... Another doctor which I have heard praises about is Dr Tan WK, Dr Jocelyn Koh and Dr Caroline Khi from TMC... There are actually many decent gynaes available for booking, choose wisely, maybe can read up the forum before u make ur decision.

Tomatoning, I'm always eating junk food, just cannot take vegetables and healthy food at all and I never liked junk food before I was pregnant.. I do try to eat fruits everyday, Haiz been eating unhealthy food, that's why my health has deteriorated. Ur gynae is right, fast food is bad... I regretted taking them but thing is I just can't eat simple fare at home... All these fried food and cold drinks have made me sick and breathless, so now I'm trying to eat healthy and try to do a bit of simple aerobics at home hehe... I don't cook, but now I made it a point to return home to eat mum's cooking at least twice a week... Home cooked food is always the best....

And wow... I haven't feel my baby yet... Too much fats lol.. Hope I can feel them soon :)

Hi all, hope everyone is doing fine! My sickness seems to have returned and gotten worst in the past 2 weeks with a never ending headache. Had to go for a neck and head massage today and it relieved the pain a little!

Tomato - that's really quick to feel the baby!! I am so envious :)

Btw, do any of you have bad breakout? I used to have ok clear skin but now I easily break out and they don't seem to go away. I wonder if it is due to pregnancy.

Autumnfall - totally understand how you feel abt returning back to work...I've been on medical leave for nearly 2 months! :( Really don't think I would have coped at work anyway if i had returned any earlier. Even now the headache/nausea still returns from time to time...Hopefully ppl will understand. :/

Don't worry abt baby not growing...I've lost 5kg but praise God, every check-up shows baby growing as it shld so I guess all the nutrients are going to it. As my gynae says, every bite you take, baby gets to eat first then the remaining goes to mummy. Am still trying hard to gain weight though coz my appetite is still bad. I drink Enfamama A+ (chocolate flavour) every night and I think it helps! Am not a very milk person but find it ok. Perhaps you can give it a shot? Try to get a sample first before you commit to buying. :)

Tomatoning - Wow! I'm 15w2d too but I don't feel any baby movements yet...sometimes it hurts a little (like cramps) at the spot where baby is and sometimes I feel someone tugging from inside of my belly button so I don't know if that's baby pulling on the umbilical cord. Think i'm too imaginative. Haha.

Alag - I hope your nausea goes away soon! Mine comes and goes so it can be quite irritating. I get headaches and giddy spells from time to time too. Hope things get better when I return to work next week.
I noticed my skin has become less oily of late but I hear it's common to have breakouts due to hormones...

Belz - Welcome!! If you don't mind a gynae being a little more on the quiet side but very calm and steady type, you can consider the following gynaes recommended by my friends:

1) Dr Tan Kim Teng from KKH
2) Dr Kek Li Phin
3) Dr Quek Swee Peng (my gynae)

If you prefer chattier ones, I've heard good reviews for Dr Paul Tseng from TMC and Dr Chan Kong Hon from Gleneagles. As Autumnfall mentioned, may be helpful to take a look at the threads that discuss ob/gn before deciding. Good luck in your search! :))

hi pitgletbao and authumfall.. thanks so much for ur recommendation!! will go look out for these doc!! hee.. hope everybody have a smooth pregnancy.. i realise i cant turn left or rite when i slp.. i need to lie straight and slp.. tats so terrible..

Yesyes I have breakouts, a lot a lot a lot of blemishes, not the obvious acne but rather, just small blemishes/pimples on my forehead, chin, nose, cheeks and er... Basically my whole face... I usually conceal them with makeup but all these breakouts made me very vexed and frustrated...

I read from other threads and facial seems like a viable option even though some people strongly oppose it. I decided to go for facial today, as I fear woes of pigmentation and uneven skin tone in the future, just be sure to ask the beautician not to use any machines during the facial. I guess normal extraction is fine, and I will just inform the beautician that I'm pregnant and will ask her to go easy on the products...

Belz, I read from the internet that it's time to learn to slp sideways at night, best to ly on the left side, can't rem the reasons...

Piglet, wow u are already at 15 weeks?
My face has always been dry so maybe that's why I am breaking out more... No more oil for balanced skin :(
I went to the doctor today. Turns out why my puking is getting worst and head is pounding is because of a leftover virus from a cold that I didn't treat last week :( must be careful ladies, go see a doctor even when there is a small cold.

Autumn, I didn't know facials were frowned upon. I was just about to ask if I should go for it... All the spots are driving me insane. With the weight gain and now spots, I have never felt so low about my physical appearance :(

hi autumn..my mum say lie sideway so that the baby can absorb the nutrients.. the problem is when i lie side.. my tummy hurts.. dont know why too.. its been that way since i realise i m preggy..after lying side for less than 5mins.. tummy hurts like someone is poking my tummy..:( i also realise i have pimple outbreak! dare nt go facial.. n i miss massages...awwww...

Oh my tummy hurts at times when I lie sideways too, but I try to ignore it... Usually I will wake up the next morning lying on my back, guess I cannot take it and flipped during the night...

I jus finished my facial!!!! Told the beautician I was pregnant and she went very easy on the extraction, she didn't use any machines too... All was done within an hr instead of the usual 1.5hrs... Abit Bo Hua but Haiz... All the spots/blemishes Are extremely demoralising... My skin peels Arnd the nose and I have chapped lips...

My pimples grows on random areas and they don't disappear even after a very long time.. And before long, my whole face is filled with these irritating spots... The beautician told me regular facial is fine for pregnant women though im still kinda skeptical... Maybe once every two or three mths shld be fine...

Sleeping on the left helps the blood get to your baby, esp important when the tummy gets bigger...:)

I've been going for monthly facials n mani/pedi...i do let my beautician know i'm pregnant but the only thing she does differently is that she doesn't give me a shoulder/back massage. My facials are the simple no-frills type like cleansing, extraction and mask so not much issues with the use of machines n stuff. Her products smell quite natural too and since it's on a monthly basis, thought shld be ok?

As for mani/pedi, again i do the basics n not the gelish so i thought shld be fine too. ;p hope I'm not being a naughty mama!
