Hi,

I've got the same experience before, for my case - the 'wind' causes it. Cos during confinement, I washed my hands often and also on fan & aircon when bf my son. My massage lady recommended me to use ginger cream ( can find in jamu shop). I applied and massaged every nite before slp to get the 'wind' out, it works well for me. I no longer felt numbness or frozen again, may be u wanna give it a try.

It is caused by the position of your hands and the weight of baby. I had that too.
Pls go to polyclinic so they can refer you to specialist.

It happened to me and it is an inflamation of the tendons in your wrists. Not caused by water retention or what.

You have to learn to breastfeed without carrying. Try to use a pillow or 2 to prop up baby to your breasts. Or BF while lying down.

It can get very serious to the extend of surgery, so pls see a specialist early. I was referred to the specialist at SGH. They gave me injection to reduce the pain. But the injection is not long term solution. I went to chinese doc for massage and it helped alot. Now I go back once a month for 'maintenance massage' to prevent it from occurring again.

I think it's called tendonitis or something like that.

It occurred on/off during my 2nd weeks of confinement. If u goin to the jamu shop to buy, the name of the cream is - Lotion mustejab extract ginger.

ya i think TCM may be able to help. i went to one at people's park centre for about 4-5 times and he did accupunture, heat warming, massage etc when my left wrist (which had old injury from fall from a bike before) hurt a lot from carrying my baby too much. the wrist has been fine since then.

My numbness was with me during pregnancy. Its caused by water retention. I dont think there is anything to do with washing as I do a lot of washing during my confinement.

The numbness was gone 2 mths after giving birth. I drank alot of water to prevent more water retention.

i had it too but during pregnancy and after delivery for about two months. For me was carpal tunnel syndrome though. I couldnt even clench my fist in my 3rd trimester.
