IVF & Acupuncture?

Hi,

I trying to conceive and heard acupuncture works! anyone tried? If so any good acupuncturist to recommend?

Also, any good IVF docs to recommend? Am also thinking of the IVF route!

Hiya,

I had acupuncture throughout my treatment, and before.

I didn't have many adverse symtoms during down regulation as other people did. I was on Buserelin during down reg, and it's supposed to be 'heaty'. Gives you a dry throat and thirst. I didn't suffer too much.

During stimulation, I was on Menopur and again, I didn't suffer too bad effects. I responded quite well to the stimming, producing 27 eggs, but I'm not sure if it's purely drug dosage, or the acupuncture. What I do know though, is that I didn't suffer OHSS too badly and they didn't have to put my cycle back to FET even though I had 27 eggs retreived.

I had 2 acu sessions on the day of embryo transfer: one before to open the uterus and relaxation, and one after to close the uterus and nourish the uterus, and again for relaxation. During my 2ww, I went for 2 more sessions, mostly for blood flow, nourishment and relaxation.

I'm happy to say that I got my BFP two days ago. Obviously, I don't know if it's the acupuncture that made it succeed first time round, but I don't think it did any harm.

Sorry I can't recommend any acupuncturists or IVF docs as I'm not based in Sg. We have acupuncturists who specialise in infertility here, and I went to one. Not sure if you have the same in Sg?

Bumping it up because I'll be having my first session of acupuncture (no ivf) next week.

Any updates from TTC ladies whom have gone thru this? I have been reading a lot on this treatment these few days and seems like reviews have been rather positive and encouraging.

I've been on this TCM powder for almost 2 months. 3 months ago I had a D&C. Baby lost heartbeat at 13 weeks. I got preggie frm the same sinseh back then, merely 2 weeks into her powder. But I stopped seeing her when I found out I was BFP.

I lost the baby highly due to chromosome issue, according to the oscar test. As much as I was saddened and shocked, gynae gave me hope that every pregnancy is different.

I intend to stick to this sinseh full term if I do get preggie again. According to her, the acupuncture will help me to release stronger eggs, give me earlier ovu, and thicken my uterus lining.

I'm keeping positive and open mind and surely hope for the best :)

Hi ladies,

me n dh were gg thru many courses of acupuncture n tcm in my last 5 cycles of ivf n all failed. Finally we decided to stop in my 6th ivf cycle, tiking mayb we are too補 ...decide rest n dun mix w all the ivf medication & etc.

You can get up to go the bathroom, make yourself something to eat and to get a change of scenery. It is strongly suggested you stay in a resting position as much as possible-this means with your feet up. Keep the pictures of the embryo’s near by and visualize them implanting, promise them you will be great parents. Remember your belief needs to be strong right now and “your body hears every thought you have
