Dear mummies,

I discovered I have some lumps in both nybreast thru a body healthcheck in oct 2007. I m advised that they're benige n was suggested to go for review 6 mths later but due to many reasons I didn't do so until the fact came tobauntme last wk. But because I'm still breastfeeding I believe it may or maynot affect the status of my breasts. I'm worried as I do not know thecurrent status of my breasts.

I would like to go to an experienced female doctor or Gynae who is experienced to review n assess my breasts to give an all clear sign..

Does any one of u have any advice n recommendations for me? I'd be v appreciativeif u could advise me n give me dome recommendations.

Thanks so much & hope to hear from u soon !:)

May i ask what procedure was done to you before the doctor told you its benign? usually 40yrs old below, a breast Utz is done but for older women, a Mammography should have been facilitated. Some doctors would do fine needle aspiration biopsy( poking needle to the breast mass) then aspirate fluid and subject this to examination. mere physical examination at this point is quite inconclusive since you have just recently given birth and is breastfeeding, making breast tissue swollen. you can still however do breast Utz and compare results with previous one. Visit your doctor soon so that you can be enlightened.

Eh when you were preggy, gynae did not check your breasts? What did she/he say/recommend?
Hi kams,

is checking of breasts part of the gynaecological check during the routine
checks by the gynae?

Or is it upon request?

Hmm,I think I will go to the Polyclinic to check and get referral to do ultrasound test n mammogram if required as the dr that discover my lumps is the attending dr which saw me after I did my healthcheck n I didn't have a gd impression of her.

Hi 1st-timemom,

thanks for ur advice. I am also thinking of visiting
polyclinic to do a brief check before getting referral to do ultrasound screening and mammogram if needed...

The main issue here is tt I am still breastfeeding I believe my breast mass and status may not be acurate due to the work of hormones during breastfeeding...

Sometimes I also feel some pain on my left breast n there was once some blood shot out it when I was expressing milk. That time the spent on the breastpump is more than an hr n the strength of the pump is
relatively strong. Did ask a doc and to my relief that it
may be due tot the stress of the breastmilk expressing with a breastpump that may caused the blood being shot out.

With all these issues, I think I will have to visit the dr
soon...

Thanks every mummies who has repoled to my thread..
THANKS!!! :)
