Mavis Tutorial Centre -- Feedback?

My son was with Mavis from Pri 4 till mid of Pri 5. We went away for 2 yrs and recently my children wanted to rejoin Mavis after our return in July (My son is in Sec One and My gal in Pri Four this year).
A lot depending on the teachers, those in Hougang are ex-teachers and had taught there more than 10 yrs.
There are a lot of good tuition centers in Singapore, you need to check or ask around about their track record on PSLE, the teachers and the worksheets of the school.

My Kids was with MAVIS ( I seriously would not recommend it) ... quite sometime ago, but I get them to quit the classes. It SIMPLY HORRIBLE.
Turns out that my elder kid only master "Dai Dee" (poker) in the class. Instead of improving her weak subjects. The teachers just simply walk in and out constantly, while instructing them to do their own revision. While my younger kid in a different class, can't understand what the teacher is teaching. The class is simply too noisy, all the students just chit chatting while the teacher just sit at his desk.
(How I know??? I find it too hard to believe when my kids video it down in their handphone... That shows that there is are discipline enforced in classes... and that is how I find out)
I wasted my money and trusted the wrong person for introducing me below standard tuition center

I have heard similar things about Mavis and their style. They are simply "extending" your child's normal school hours, and they do it as if it's the post-exam slack period already. Even when they actually do things, it's no better, in fact worse, than what you get in school -- huge classes of maybe 40 students, doing nothing but copying down "model" answers from teachers who may or may not be good.
My point is, you've already realized the standard govt schools' method is not working for your child, for some reason, why would more of the same be any good for your child??

According to their website, the classes are taught by former top-rate tutors from MOE such as President's Award for Teachers recipient, MOE Master teacher, Ex-Hwa Chong Head of Math Department, Ex-ACS (Independent) Math teacher, and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board officer. My girl is in True Learning Centre for Math, English and Science. Her math is taken by Ms Angeline Teo whom my girl said is very clear in her explanation and lessons are engaging. Her Science and English are taught under Mrs Nora Teo who is the Master Teacher. My girl's grades have improved and she is more excited about learning after joining the centre.
I know that when you search for them, they might appear high in the search result, but I think for Mavis, you should think twice...
