Hi Paigepaige, that's right. Like junebug 86 had mentioned, no cash required. Only nd credit card for payment. Mt A will send u the final bill about 2 weeks later :)
I do not have credit card. Will they accept debit?
Yes you can call them to check. But I think there shouldn't be any problems because I think they just need a valid card to bill the charges.

May I ask some questions about the hospital bill? Reading the Mount Alvernia Package, a Cae Section with GA will cost $2,866 (2 bedder), and medisave allowable is $3,500. how come my cousin say that she paid $3,200 cash for her hospital final bill ?? I need to estimate how much cash to reserve for my first delivery at Mount Alvervia. Many thanks ...

Hi joeytly, my gyn is also Dr CH Koh from tpy. I delivered in Mar 2013 at Mt A with emergency c-sec stayed in 2 bedder ward for 4d3n. Total bill including doc charges is 7k+, after medisave I paid near to 3k.

Charges by Dr Koh is as follows:
Doctor attendance fee: 700+
Doctor operation fee: near to 2k

I must say Dr Koh skill very good. My wound heal up very nicely and could walk around the second day.

Hi mindyandricky, the final bill includes gynae/PD/doc's fee and some other miscellaneous charges. The package that u referred to is only the charges for the room.

Hello Everyone !

I am so so so happy to learn that my wife is expecting :) I can't wait to give her a big hug when she returns from her trip.

After reading the Forum posts, we have decided to engage the service of Dr Esther Ng from Mount Alvernia.

Many have advised that it is important to having a caring and patient Gynae, and I hope Dr Esther would be a good choice for us :)

My younger sister delivered 2 cute kids at Mount Alvernia, and this helped our decision.

And now, I am looking forward to seeing the Gynae on Monday 13 May 2013 :)

We are still guessing my wife's pregnancy week ...

Cheers :)
yes!! dr esther is my gynae also!! shes very sweet n caring. each appt with her was very detailed

single bed definitely has more privacy... double bed depends on how many people deliver on the days you are there... if there is no one in the same ward as you.. you get a "single" bed also...

something that i heard that if you booked for single bed but all single beds are taken up when you deliver, you will be downgraded to double bed at single bed prices.. you might want to confirm if it is really true..

Yep when I gave birth on oct 2012 they gave a small baby bath tub, diaper bag with a small thermal bag and changing mat. The leftover diaper and wipes for baby (1 pkt each) were also given.

just went to hospital tour at Mount A & Thomson yesterday. The 1st impression with Mount A is better. Tour take about an hr at Mount A and the charge that takes over around is patient and can answer to all questions, give me a cosy feeling. But the tour at Thomson takes half an hr, the in charge is talking very fast rushing for time, i dun feel ease at all. gg to give birth at Mount A.

#1 - Mt A single bed
#2 - TMC single bed

overall, i enjoyed my stay in Mt A as compared to TMC. TMC gives me a very commercialised feeling from Day 1.
Then again, i had good experience with the nurses at TMC, except for the minority during the night shifts.
if not for the gynae (clinic in TMC, different gynae from #1), i would have chosen Mt A. more cosy feeling.

Hi leomaiden

Would you be able to advise me on the estimation of the charges u pay in your total bill as i will also be opting for c sect with epi thanks in advance

Hello mummies,

I delivered under emergency c-sect with epi bill size less than 8k including doctor fee, delivery ward, 2 times epidural, room 4 day at 4 bedder and baby charges. Baby got jaundice but didn't see the bill for phototherapy. MT. A will charge whatever u used . comparing with tmc, they are more commercialize and selling per package.

MT. A provide small baby bath tub, bag, thermal bag and etc. please contact the hospital tour for further info.

Overall, I was pleasant delivered at MT. A for my first baby.
