My Boi he's in infant care since he's 4month old till now 11month.

Previously, 6month that time his school K2 class got 2-3kids got HFMD but i still let him go to school because infant class is an enclosed area and everything went well.
About 8month my hubby kena HFMD also but he is also ok.

Till last week his school playgroup has 1kid for HFMD and he also got HFMD and i just know that his infant class has about 8-9kids got HFMD.

So, i suspect one of the Infant teacher went to touch things from playgroup class and went back to Infant class that's why those 8-9infant also got this.

My concern, by right infant care is in charge of infant only why are they outside assisting the playgroup? Maybe they are short handed. But wish future if there's any short handed case again hope their teacher will wash their hands before entering the infant class.

Now, i wish to tell the principle their teacher should wash their hands if there's a need. But i don't have any bad encounter with the school before or even those infant teacher. As in, i'm in quite good terms with all the teachers and i don't wish to become bad terms also a protection they take good care of my son.... How and what can i say to the principle in a better manner so that she don't think that i'm complaining? Also, she may go and tell those teachers that i'm complaining....

Oh ya, my collegue ask me to go and try ask for a claim back on the medical bills, leaves i've wasted to look aft him and 1week school fees. Is there really a need?

Need advice.....

IMO, i dun think the principal will go arnd telling the teachers u complain, she will only feedback to them regarding such a case.
n the principal shld be understanding enough towards your concerns for your child n take appropriate measures.

n i dont think it is appropriate to ask for a claim on bills n such.
when u place your son in the infant care, u shld be prepared that it will happen.
even if your son's infant class is seperated in from the other classes, like mentioned, they r ALL still in a enclosed air con area, so the virus n germs will still spread.
this is something u cannot avoid. as said, u only suspect the reason why your son contracted HFMD, means u do not know the real reason.
plus, maybe your son contracted it frm somewhere else?
i believe such things cant be avoided.
the other time the doc diagnosed pin with hfmd, n she was absent from sch for 2 weeks, til now, not even sure if it was HFMD, cos 3 diff doc diagnose (2 were relief docs) n end up i went to a diff clinic (skin specialist) n the doc say it was allergy reaction..but in the first few days, pin really had those ulcers in her mouth...so til now i just take it as she did kena HFMD but a mild one.

cant be i tell the doc his relief doc diagnose wrongly n return me my 2 weeks leave, plus pin's 2 weeks sch fees n my medical fees right??

i think it is the "risks" u need to take if u put your son in CC...

JMHO.

Yes I agree with Ting....

My son is also in the infant care since he was 5mths old, now he is in the PG there....when my son got HFMD last year, there were several cases of it in the CC too but different area

We are prepared, but nv once did it cross our mind to claim back frm the infant care the medical bills & the week leave that we took to care for him as such things cannot be certain as to who pass to who.

And it is not advisable if you r continuing your son in tht CC, unless you are pulling him out and putting him in another CC then mayb you can give constructive feedback to the principal

Thanks both for feedbacks.

I also think so about getting the claim, so funny that claim from school cause i choose the school myself de mah. Actually that day i waited no one reply to my post but i kanjiong so i already called up the school to talk about it already... I think it's not nice to claim or wat from them so i didn't ask anything about it. Just ignore my collegue say de. Then the principle say the cause may be from the playgroup class when they waiting for their turn to bath that time they will go to the infant door and have contact with those infant. There is a possibility for this and after that i asked her in a way, if there's a need for infant teacher to relief playgroup aft relief will teacher wash their hands before going into the infant class? She says she always ask teacher to keep clean. wash their hands etc.
Hope after this lesson they will be more caution then. haiz..

Hi yvonne,
I just went to junior schoolhouse to enquire about infant care services. Wanted to know your experience with them so far. When I was there, the teachers were playing with the infants, they look rather happy and fine.

Perhaps you should suggest to the principal to have a seperate walkway for the playgroup class to the bath area to reduce the contact of the infant with them.

hmm, i would think different CCs hv different structures. pin's cc only hv one way to the bathroom.
but for the infant room, the kids wont be able to open n reach into the room, only can see the babies from the glass door/window.
n the kids, they r alr taught, not allowed to go into the room.
