Dear All

i realise my daughter (2 weeks plus) has heavy breathing and sometimes when she breathe, she even grunts. Is that normal or should i be concerned?

my baby does the same. haha. i find it funny. I think there's no need to worry unless her milk feed gets affected. at that age, if you notice that she drinks lesser milk than usual, then bring her to pd.

Is your baby sleeping in an air con room? It's more common when babies sleep in air con room. That's also the case with my baby.

If it's affecting her feeding you could bring her to see a doctor.

My PD prescribed nose drops for my baby that time.

yes my girl's sleeping in air con room. Any reason why air con causes heavy breathing and sometimes grunting?

It isn't affecting her feeding so i guess she's all good?

Not sure why aircon room affects the breathing that way but my PD did mention that sleeping in air con room would have such occurrences.

My guess is coz place is enclosed, more dust and also colder air so nasal way constricts more.

Yeah as long as not affecting her feeding it is ok. If she's not coughing and no fever, it's ok. She'll outgrow it.
