Hi Mummies,

Anyone here done Oscar Scan @ 12 weeks? As my result was not good, meaning there's risk on having a down syndrome baby.

This is my 3rd BB and i had my scan @ Thomson medical center and my gynae suggest to do a further blood test called 'Harmony Test' Which will need to send my blood sample to oversea for further detail test which cost about 1K. On the other hand, my gynae mention if i can accept with my result of the Oscar scan then i can ignore to do further test which confuse me and i dont know what to do?

Done some research and read up on other forums about this Scan which was dated 2-3 years back, some suggest Amnio or CVS or Genetic Scan which all cost bomb. Really need some advice?

Here's the result:

Maternal Age : 31yrs
EDD : 29/10/2016
Gestational Age : 12 weeks 3 days

Fetal CRL : 60.9mm
NT : 2.7mm
Nasal Bone : 1.9mm

Free beta hCG : 42.100 IU/l equiv to 1.1379 MoM
PAPP-A : 3.190 IU/l equiv to 1.0360 MoM

Background risk : Tri 21 = 1:523, Tri 18 = 1:1258, Tri 13 = 1: 3952
Adjusted risk : Tri 21 = 1:375, Tri 18 = 1:7239, Tri 13 = < 1: 20000

Please share and advice?

Harmony Test is accurate up to 99% whereas Oscar Test has false readings up to 10%, suggest you go for Harmony to reaffirm the results (According to what I had researched on)

Amnio should be last resort as it carries miscarriage risk.

Had a friend who did Oscar test which produced unfavorable result, he and his wife proceeded to harmony test and realized it was a false reading. Time period while waiting for the result of the harmony test was agonizing if you can imagine. Now they are happy parents of one, I just attended their baby shower last week
