I've had piles since I was 8 mths pregnant. After delivery, my gynae told me the piles would go away within 3mths. My baby is 1 yr old already and I'm still suffering from it!! Are there any mummies who experience the same thing? Any advice on how to get rid of it? I've heard of a surgery to remove it. Do you know how much it cost? Is it VERY painful? PLs help...

ok, I'll go to GP and try. I'll do anything for the piles to go! I've been using Anusol supp. (insertion method). It only works for a day or two then after that the piles come out again......sigh....

i've got one big pile (bigger than 10ct coin). It's on the outside, not painful but looks like an excess piece of skin. I've heard tat if it's not painful, can just leave it.

I think if I remember correctly (haiz, poor memory, aging?? :elvis:) Our GPs gave me that too.. Do go back to the same GP if it doesn't work as some doc will start from mild presciption then adjust.. Porbably u din push enough or ur condition requires longer treatment?

Nowaday there's a new method of treating serious piles condtion.. I heard that the hospital will clip (like staple the excess piece inwards) rather than cut..

Dear, pls ask a Doc u felt comfortable in details what are the options of treatment of such..

Undersatnd it's suffering.. I push for 5 hrs during my 1st delivery.. After that my piles is like a couliflower ah!!! :elvis: And so painful that I need a rubber ring wherever I went.. And so painful that I need medication to soften my bowels but I still have phobia passing motions.. Haiz.. :embarrassed: Those were the suffering days.. :embarrassed:

I heard from old folks a common remedy.. Pluck "touch me not" up inclusive of roots.. Boil them in water.. Cool the water a while.. Pour into a basin.. Squat above the steam.. My 85yo granny claimed that it really works.. I boiled during my 2nd pregnancy but din use it as when i called to double confirm, my granny warned that she doesn't know the implication of such method during pregnancy so better not try to risk the baby etc.. Thus I cannot testify the effectiveness..

Any mommies/daddies here try the method?

Piles may be caused by heatiness or too frequent passing of hard stools.. Frequent soft ones may cause such too.. I was told by our GP..

I just went to see my GP and was told that my piles is small but chronic; and has been there for a long time...(1.2yrs leh!!). There're 3 options that I can choose :
1. Banding - tie the piles till it drops (but my GP told me mine is too long, may not be effective).
2. Injection - Inject that part for the piles to diminish (again may not be effective for my case)
3. Surgery - But my GP told me my piles may be too small

SO WHAT CAN I DO?!?!?!....sigh.....

I also had the same problem... it is abt 1cm size, it is always painful during passing motion. i had went to see the specialist and was suggested to have it removed but when i was of the amount of the surgery, i had second thought, it cost about 5k and required to stay in hospital for 2 day and MC for 2weeks... so now just endure.. just dun like to pass motion..

found this on wikipedia...

natural treatment for piles:

Some people successfully apply natural procedures for treatment or reversal of chronic conditions. These procedures largely echo the prevention measures. However, you should always inform your doctor of any self-care measures you have taken, including herbal or "natural" remedies, to avoid possible drug interactions. Although unorthodox, olive oil has been known to bring relief.
They include:
i think u can try to drink the camomile tea ...

Causes of piles:

The causes of hemorrhoids include genetic predisposition (weak rectal vein walls and/or valves), straining during bowel movements, and too much pressure on the rectal veins due to poor muscle tone or poor posture. Similarly, sitting for prolonged periods of time can cause hemorrhoids. Hypertension, particularly in the portal vein, can also cause hemorrhoids because of the connections between the portal vein and the vena cava which occur in the rectal wall - known as portocaval anastomoses.[3]
Additional factors that can influence the course of hemorrhoids (mostly by increasing rectal vein pressure), especially for those with a genetic predisposition, are obesity and a sedentary lifestyle.
Increased straining during bowel movements, (e.g. constipation, diarrhea) may lead to hemorrhoids.
Pregnancy causes hypertension and increases strain during bowel movements, and thus hemorrhoids are often associated with pregnancy.
Excessive consumption of alcohol or caffeine can both cause hemorrhoids. Both can cause diarrhea. Alcohol can also cause alcoholic liver disease leading to portal hypertension. Caffeine on the other hand can cause general hypertension.

You may wanna try eating Spirulina... it is more long term cure and is from within. Many mummies have tried and benefitted from it and say bye bye to piles. Email me if you want more info milopengao@hotmail.com :)
