Would appreciate some info for a fren. Anyone with kids there? What are the programmes like? Facilities? Staff-student ratio? What kind of fees are you paying?

Fren's girl has CP and CVI. Anyone knows of any other kid with similar conditions? What therapy available for such kids?

Thanks.

This age will attend Early Intervention with cost starting from $120 - sch fee based on means testing

Once the therapiest have accessed child, they'll recommend therapies such as OT, PT. It could be group or individual

It will depends on the condtion of the child to determine which class to put into, rather than by age.

class ratio: depends on the class type too.. if for smaller class where the child still dependant, it is about 3 student + caretaker : 1teacher.

as for ST/OT/PT; it is again depends on the condition of the child, the teacher will feedback whenever there is a need to review by the therapist.

class schedule: for early Intervention, it is 2 hr class.. with sing song, art, snack time, playtime, storytime etc.

school fee wise: depends on your income for the sub... it will be range from 100 to 200 per month

Thanks!

Will ask her to find out more from the centre itself.
Do note the current queue is minimum one year. My girl is still on queue. Am upset because even comes next Jan, her seat is still not confirmed. How to do early intervention is cannot start EARLY?

Will advise you to look at other alternatives. Our therapies are currently both at KKH CDU and private therapies. Also exploring Neurosuit, Glenn Doman program etc.

Actually it really depends on the type of programme/child's disability.

In 2008, I have a client with ASD who got in RC(Yishun) within 2 mth. Another dropped out of RC(then at Balestier) & still got a place back within 3 mth in 2007 or 2008. Another one was told he was unable to qualify for 5-day programme as he wasn't ready. But during school hols, a place became available & he was "promoted".

For other EIPIC programmes, kids tend to stay for entire EI programme, so the queue moves more slowly.

For children with CP, I tend to think the Spastic Sch has more specialised PTs, esp for gross motor function.
