Spot, stop, and spot again!

Dear mummies, i am currently 11wks pregnant and on MC because of spotting for the last 3 days. I am hoping someone out there has the same experience as me...
The moment my pregnancy test was positive (around 4-5 weeks) i went to the gynae and had an exam. at that time no embryo so i was just told to sit tight. but the vaginal u/s also also showed that i had brown/pink discharge so Gynae gave me duphaston to support the pregnancy. At 6-7 weeks there was a hearbeat and I was still spotting so the doc presecribed weekly Proluton injection and twice daily duphaston still, and lots of MC! by 8th week, and the 2nd injection, the spotting stopped but the gynae wanted me to continue the weekly injection until week 12. I wasn't supposed to see her until week 12.

This week, week 11, i spotted again! so i ran to the gynae, who scanned and found baby just fine, and placenta has grown, but the lower part of the placenta is a bit close to my cervix which is why i might have bled. She said i can skip the last 2 doses of Proluton since the placenta is formed but i have to continue Duphaston. (Yes by now I've had 2 mths of Duphaston)

There's nothing much i can do but wait.. and trying not to worry... but it's so hard! when will the spotting stop so i can worry less....

oh no... I feel like i'm doomed after 24 hours and no replies....:err:

aiyah but i will force myself to stay positive.. I've got about a week before going for the end of first trimester screening test.. can only pray.

*think happy thoughts!:Dancing_wub:

Don't worry, you're not doomed ;)

I think you're doing a great job so far, considering you listen to your doctor and rest at home. With all the medical care, i'm sure you and baby will be just fine :)

I didn't have spotting like yours when i was pregnant. But i spotted once after intercourse. And the doctor said it was normal.

But i've had friends who had spotting throughout their entire pregnancy and have happy bouncing babies now!

Yes, stay positive. Get yourself busy...knitting, reading, anything relaxing would be good! :p

Hi dear, stay positive! I had spotting like you too when I was 5/ 6 weeks pregnant. It continued for quite some time, I went to my gynae immediately and he told me frankly that I should be prepared to lose this child. Tears roll down, but I controlled my emotions and walked out of the clinic . As I worked at the construction site, I still continue with my usual lifestyle. I walked up and down etc. I carried on with eating and sleeping. All because I believe if it were meant to be mine, it will be. I'm 38 weeks now. So far so good. So, cheer up!

Thank you ladies for your kind encouragement! Wish you both healthy, happy babies!

Yes I will take it easy and take one day at a time! I just got banned from intercourse even though it wasn't really the cause of my bleeding. i guess the doctor wants to be super safe.

Things seem to be clearing up for me..no more staining!
And one more strange thing : While i vomitted only once in the first 11 weeks, my nausea intensified this week and i've puked almost everyday this week! But I'll happily take the vomits over the spotting. haha.

I guess every pregnancy is really different and we dont't know what we're going to get. As long as baby is healthy i'm thankful! :001_302:

Someone very close to me puked many many times a day that she ended up in hospital for dehydration. She was put under a drip and stayed there for 2 days.

Do make sure you're getting sufficient water. And if you puke too many times, please seek medical advice immediately , they can medicate you for morning sickness (the medicine is under category B, which means it's quite safe for your baby).

Thanks Alisa, Qookie.
I think my puking is ok, just once first thing in the morning. I read that it could be due to the stomache acid build-up overnight. I'll be sure to keep myself hydrated during the day.
It's just a little surprising to hit me at week 12 when i thought MS is more common earlier on and ease off at the end of first trimester.

I read somewhere that you can try eating some plain crackers the minute you wake up before you consume anything. That should help with morning MS.

Just started taking folic acid and I'm experiencing symptoms like period coming. May I pregnant or am I not? if I assume its just spotting, anyone knows what week am I supposed to be?

Some mummies experience MS throughout their pregnancies. Think it is also dependent on individual bodies .
Happy pregnancy!

Yesterday was just a few spots, today is a big flow. Really worried that I don't get pregnant. my husband and I are so hoping to have kids of our own.

hi wangdm, if you have been trying to conceive for some time, like more than 6 mths, shd go to a specialist and see what if there's sth wrong or what can be done to help you conceive.

i spotted on first day, had a normal flow on second day and now i have a little bit. I guess I'm not pregnant....

i'm on mc again for another week due to bleeding :(

Baby is 7cm already and i was so happy to see him wiggling!
i hope whatever is going on down there will sort itself out and that my baby keeps growing well.

Hi, any one experienced on and off creamy cervical mucus w light pink tinge? Was given progesterone pills to take after a trip to gynae but can't help feeling a little worried. Ultrasound looks okay, no internal clots but only a sac can be seen. Am at 6weeks 2 days. EDD 24 nov.

hello congrats on your pregnancy!

i've had that too and my doc did take some samples to test for infections and i was all clear.
during this time the cervix is quite sensitive so an internal exam might make it irritated.
im on progestrone till now coz of spotting -usually pinkish or brown discharge...

try not to worry k and keep the doc updated on the discharg, colour, amt etc..
can always call the clinic if you're unsure.

take care!

hi ts,
did your gynae told you what's the cause of your spotting? it's hard to tell you not to worry because eventually you will. i had the same experience, i was spotting all the way till week14, it stopped shortly after i enter my 2nd trimester.

i had a cyst in the womb together with the baby (chocolate cyst). i was also given lots of MC. i stopped working for more than a month, given hospitalization leave. i even rushed to A&E 4am once because i woke up soaking my bed with blood. i need to restrict all necessary movements, meaning other than going to the bathroom, i eat and sleep on the bed. i also had terrible MS for my entire first trimester, i had cramps until i thought my period was coming.

im on week20 now, wish u all the best.
just stay positive, it's important. i read a lot of articles, how u feel can affect your pregnancy as well.

the gynae said its just instability.. she did examine everything and couldnt pin point what was the cause. but at one stage it was caused by the edge of the placenta being too close to the cervix. so i was on mc for two weeks until the placenta moved up.

am 16 weeks now! occasional spotting when i have bowel movement but doc say dun be alarmed unless the colour and qty changes. cant wait for the next scan to see baby!

thanks for sharing! nice to know im not the only 'special' one :)
