just to share: i heard many mothers who CHOSE to continue working full time at the expense of their children... now their young children are showing SIGNS of rebellion and disobedience. They are closer to their maids / grandparents than their OWN mothers.

Yes, it's glam to be a high-flying working mothers with big titles and fat pay checks. Plus beautiful outfits / makeup / sexy high heels etc but always not around at home & always on overseas biz trips....but at the end of the day, you come back home to your children who are NOT close to you. This is the ultimate price to pay. Of cos there're mothers who have to work due to financial difficulties. But they show MORE committment in providing love to their children than $-focus mothers.

in this case, what for give birth to them when u dun wish to spend your love on them..? $ is not everything. Able to give them $ is only part of being a parent's responsibilities. Showing them love and attention is the most importance.

i'll be going back to workforce after taking care of my son for 25 months. it wasnt a easy decision for me to make but i felt that he needed to be exposed to a more routine environment.
had to give up my passion for nursing in the hospital environment with the shift works n stuff and take on a management role in a pte specialised clinic. we have engaged a helper as well so that i need not worry about the housework and meals and spend all the time i have after work n picking son up from childcare with him.

Wow! after reading your post, I feel more comfortable being a SAHM full-time!

If I have to choose all over again, I'll still be a SAHM. I have 2 beautiful baby girls and I'm madly in love with them. I am so lucky to be able to witness their every milestone. Even though I have a maid, I cook their every meal and I send them to playschool/swim class/doctor's appointments myself. Sans maid, mind you. They grow up so fast. What's the point of living if I miss out on the very thing that's important? They give me purpose in my life. No, no regrets to be a SAHM at all.

I have a smartie SAHM friend... she was NTU Top Scholar of her cohort...beaten every other graduate of her cohort. Highly sought by top companies who offered her FAT pay packages & titles.
she isn't interested... she is a SAHM happily and having NO regrets cos this is her dream...
