Hello mummies, i am wondering when did u stop sterilizing baby bottles and breast pump stuff? I am currently using the sterilizing tablets. My mil did commented we should not 'over sterilize'.. My gal is 6mths old now, thought of using hot water to rinse instead...not dunno if now is a gd time to start. Hope someone can share ur exp! Thanks!

yah. by right can stop at 6months cos baby start eating solid food which u don't sterilise the bowls and utensils anyway.

but we continue to sterilise bottles and funnels cos we think breastmilk grows bacteria easily plus wanta freeze so better sterilise.

my son is now 20mths old I still sterilise... out of hygiene. Becos we have a dog at home and my son drinks milk sleeping on the floor mattress.
Except during travelling overseas then we dont sterilise, just scald using hotel hot water.

I never sterilised anything. The hospital where I had my baby did some research and with pumps and bottles for breastmilk, hot soapy water is enough. Breastmilk has antibacterial properties :)
