My son's Singapore PD is Dr Ong Eng Keow from SBCC based in TMC and Ang Mo Kio. And even when we are away from Singapore, all the medication that my boy takes is from his clinic as my brother will help me get all the medication and send them to me through freight.

Over here, he is also seeing a PD but they are not as detailed as Dr Ong and does not prescribe any medication so sometimes I still email Dr Ong for advice.

Both my gals are seeing Dr MC Tan at Raffles Hospital, Children Centre. He's very friendly and detailed. Most importantly my kids never cry when getting jab cos he really know how to distract them.

I used to bring my kids to Dr Agnes Tay at Jurong Point. Not that she is good, only because she was the only PD within walking distance from my flat. I don't really like her. There was once my girl high fever for 4 days, went to see her, she said nothing wrong, no medicine given at all. Now she has moved to Jurong East. Not going to see her again.

There was a time when my kids had bronchitis and saw many PDs also no use. Finally I brought them to see Dr Tan Kay Soon at Mt Alvernia hospital. He is good at treating bronchitis.

Now I bring my kids to see GP My family clinic at Pioneer Mall(Jurong West). Dr Gwee is very very nice. Her medication is quite effective at treating coughs too, don't need to use nebulizer.

Another GP I like is Dr Tan Poh Kiang at PJ Clinic(Beo Crescent). But he is very popular, especially on Mondays where there is usually a very long queue, impossible to see him. Dr Tan is good for both adults and kids. I know many people moved far far away, still come back to see him. His fees are reasonable, I think his pneumococcal jab is one of the cheapest.
Hi Tamarind,
I'm thinking of bringing my little princess (12 mths +) for chicken pox & pneumococcal. Which doctor is better & the charges? I'm staying near Jurong Point.:Dancing_wub:

Been to PD Dr Anna Chong at Jurong East, blk 214. She's nice, pro and experienced. My boy goes to NUH clinic for jabs and been seeing Dr Chan Poh Chong. Dunno why my boy likes him very much, laughs a lot when he sees him.

VicLuv,
I would recommend that you see Dr Gwee at My family clinic at Pioneer Mall. I can't remember the charges for the jabs, but she is GP so definitely cheaper than PD. I have seen many PDs before, but prefer to see her now.

Dr YY Yip from SBCC at Gleneagles.
He was my gal's PD since birth, so still following up with him.
A very gentle and soft spoken man.

I prefer to bring my kids to poly first for simple sickness like flu. Unless I know that poly meds won't work for them I bring them to KidsLink Children's Clinic at Jurong East. The doc is very patient and really explains everything in detail. But it burns a hole in my pocket everytime. Almost to $100 for every visit. But it's worth bcos he is very detailed. If I can afford I don't mind lah, if not heart pain siah.

Now since my son developed sensitive airways, bring him to the pd is not cos t effective for me. I went to a gp on recommendations. He is good too. My son was coughing non stop for 3 MONTHS! This gp just gave one jab and overnight he was so much better. He managed to get some peaceful sleep without coughing. He is from Straits Clinic. Very old but can see got good stream of regular. Since my son's cough is manageable.

my little girl normally go to kinderclinic at paragon, and they've been great! But I just realised every time we go there, we spend over $150 inc. medicine.

Where is the Singapore Baby and Child Clinic AMK branch located?

DS used to see Dr Y Y Yip at Singapore Baby and Child when he was born at Gleneagles. Also because he is premature and Dr Yip specialises in neonates. Dr Yip is very gentle and softspoken...nice doctor...

But when DS is about 1, we changed to the GP near my mom's house, because there was once DS fell sick on a weekend, and SBCC was closed :(

From then on, DS has been seeing this GP...He is Dr Tan Ee Ju at Toa Payoh Lor 1 ...a very detailed and gentle doctor too. He has 4 kids of his own, so he is also able to give advice on what food to take or avoid when DS is sick. ;)

My DD's Pd is Dr allyson tan of kid's clinic @ Seng Kang Rivervale Mall. She is detailed and attentive. Just that the fees are not cheap and Qs are long. The clinic opens at 9am, the Q starts forming at 830am. Every visit there costs me around $70.

I dun recommend going to GP for infant under 1 year old. My SIL had bad experiences with the GP on the dosage of medicine given ( overdose) luckily things turn out ok in the end, but it definitely scare the life out of her. I personally like Ng Pau Ling (PD) at MT A :red:

we go to dr. koh poh kian in singapore baby and child clinic at ang mo kio town center. since i'm not from here...just wondering...is it normal for PDs here not to thoroughly check babies every time there's a check-up? dr. just check his tummy, gives jabs and answeres our questions. is it really the way things are done here? i'm a bit worried because we have a monthly check-up int the philippines and doctor thoroughly checks everything (weight, height, heartbeat, etc.)

but dr is really good. very kind and patient.
