My dear,
don't worry. Because every child's development is different.

I have a niece who was still struggling to walk at 18months!!!
Now, she, at 8, is jumping and skipping like any other kid... motor skills are perfectly comparable to her peers,so she is not slow at all now.

Some toddlers take more time than others. Its PERFECTLY ALRIGHT.

If you really wanna speed up the training, which is completely not necessary, I only have one word > PRACTISE.

Spend more time with her and let her practise walking by using 'baits'. *smile*

for pin, she picked up walking quite fast. she could walk w/o support b4 she is 1 yo.
but all kids are different n hv their different pace.
dun worry too much.
if u wan, let her practise more.
encourage her to walk on by herself.
its ok to let her fall too, dun rush over too quickly too help her up, let her do it herself.
just make sure her surroundings is safe without sharp objects.
also, u can put some pillows or cushions on the side to cushion her falls.
if your want, u can buy those walker for toddlers, where they can push n walk? or maybe those toy stroller also can.

Hi dear,

I think every toddler is different, so don't worry. In the mean time, u could do like what the other mummies said to "train" her. :)

For myself, I use the bait + walker on Iggy. I always "refused" to carry Iggy at home, just let him move around on his own, of coz must be safe with no dangerous stuffs around.. Praise the kid when he did it and when he falls, just tell him it's alright, try again.. Slowly they will have the confidence to do it... :001_302:

crystal babe~~~

baber only walked by himself at 14 months 2weeks plus, so if were to compare, yours is still ok.

i have infact, tried to pull him outta my house, train him to walk etc etc but his legs are soft like jelly......lols~~~after a while i gave up my "training" lols~~~~so he juz walked by himself after tat......

but all toddlers are different, so as long as she shows interest/effort in standing upright/trying to walk/holding/stumbling/unstable walking/ etc, its fine.

when they are ready, they will just walk that few unstable and cute baby steps from bedroom to living room without you knowing!!! :001_302::001_302::001_302:

I think every kid is different. My son can walk if he wants to, but he super no confidence. Once he's got nothing to hold onto, he'll start crawling. But a few times when he was distracted and excited, we've seen him take 6-7 steps quickly before he had to stop and steady himself.

Hi Crystal,

My baby only 1 mth older than yours and she also still walk if i support her 2 hands fm behind..if i let go one hand she will stop and want to crawl...*haizz...so scary cat.

she also can stand by herself (only if she hold on to something) and she can cruise around the furniture..but once she don't hv anything to hold on she would automatically sit down and crawl again.

but if i put her on mattress she dare to stand up w/o any support and wiggle2 her hips like dancing somemore (for few wiggles but then tumble down coz unstable to stand on mattress)... she knows which place she won't get hurt if she tumble down.

so far i keep letting her surf around the house by herself thou.. so i guess wait untill herself ready to take few steps. hehe.

Yes agree with all the mummies here, every child is different, and they have a lifetime to walk.....my son started walking when he was 14mths plus, that time I felt that my son was slow till I talked to another friend who said her child only learnt how to walk when they r 18mths plus ......

Just be patient with ur child.....dun rush them :tlaugh:
