It's about mental focus. Our kids are too distracted with all sorts of tings... computer games for one. And parents nowadays tend to pamper kids too. by being over protective and over providing, our kids dont think they need to strive hard as they get bailed out by their parents most of the time.

Yes, agree, To explain to P3 kids, need to simplify scenario. Let her know Charles' part did not change, so remain as 3 units before and after. Edward changed to twice or 2x Charles, so from 1 unit before to 6 units after.
