Hi All,

I have been having sinus even before I was preggie and now that I'm carry our little one now, I've stopped using medication where possible. Been having terrible headaches and nose/ ear blocks when my sinus acts up *sobb*

Any remedies?

Hi mama_aki,

I have the same medical problem. When found out was pregnant, i stopped using nasal spray too and got sinusitis quite often and had to be put on antibiotics.... Went to see my gynae, and he said it is fine to continue using the nasal spray. I'm on Nasonex by the way. Cos nasal spray are much safer that oral medications. So when we are pregnant, if possible can avoid oral medication then avoid... There are other alternatives also. Hope this info helps.

poor you... if you want to try natural remedies, maybe you can check out nasal irrigation? Basically, it's pouring warm saline water into one nostril, and let the water drain out from the other nostril. it sounds gross, but it is very effective for sinus problems. even oprah winfrey raved about it.

i do it too, but not that often coz with a 10mth old running around, i hardly have time for myself:001_302: hehe

applebreeze> Yup actually my doc said can still use the sinus spray (I also used nasonex before) cos it's only 10% steriods but I read online seems not recommended so I still don't dare to use (somemore in first trimester).

Thanks all for the advice! I've gotten a saline nasal spray from Guardian..going to try it tonight! Will share if it is useful with all of you here after I've tried.

Hi Julesy,

I only tried the nasal irrigation spray I bought recently as I kept thinking it is uncomfortable to use too, the nozzle is different from the nasal spray I have always used (flixonase and nasonex). Also because it is made of sea + purified water so I kept thinking it will taste salty if backdrip =p

Finally one night I was so uncomfortable and couldn't breathe and used it. It is soothing and very helpful. You can give it a try, it's 100% natural.

The one I am using is Sterimar, bought from Guardian about $15.

I suffered from sinus or also known as rhinitis since I was 18 years old, and when I have sinus attacks, I'll be sneezing like nobody business, eyes become red and super itchy and after sneezing strongly, nose become stuffy and have lots of phlegm. Worst of, after that I'll get sore throat because of the infection. Been to many specialist doctors and all told me the same thing, there is no medicine, nothing can be done except taking those anti-histamine medicines, using nose sprays, saline water....well you name it, I've used all of them. After I gave birth, my boy inherited my sinus, and everyday he will have sympthoms like runny nose, which then developed into phlegm and after that causing infections. Because of the sinus he will have to take anti histamin medicine, like Zyrtec, and also take anti-biotic because the phlegm always lead to infections.
I was pretty desperate because none of the doctors can give me a solution to cure it, and worst of, the medicines can only control the symptoms, not curing or preventing it. Until my best friend who was then a wellness coach, asked me to try their supplements. I was sceptical because I have tried many things, but she said we are prone to allergic reactions mainly because our immune system is weak, if immune system is strong, then our body would be able to fight well. Of course I didn't have much choices either, doctors are unable to help, so I gave it a try. Believe it or not, after 3 months taking the health supplements, both my symptoms and my son's was visibly reduced. I used to have attack once every 3 weeks, nowadays the cycle is about once every 2 months. As for my son Aries, he used to have it everyday and now it's about once a month. As we continue to improve our immune system, our body is able to fight the attack much better now.

If you want to know how fast your body is aging and whether you have a strong immune system, you can measure it with their Biophotonic Scanner. In the past, people have to take blood to test it at the lab. Now with the patented scanner that is the only non-invasive scanner in the world, we can know if our money spend on health supplements are worth the money. I used to take other brands and never know whether it's working. Now, I get to measure it. You can call me at 81818669 if you are keen to get scanned. I can send you the links to Dr OZ's video, where they used the scanner to scan all the audiences.

Don't just hear from me, prove it yourself. You got nothing to lose, the choice to take medications versus health supplements. Your choice determines your health.

Cheers
