Author Denis Waitley finds that one of the main causes of procrastination is the fear of success. Students usually procrastinate because they are afraid of the success (Getting good grades) that they know will result if they work hard now.

****Take this quiz to find out if a fear of success is causing procrastination in your life****

1. Do you have a written list of long-term and short-term goals you want to achieve? (Aim for Mid-Year-Exams, O levels, A levels etc)

2. Do you always ask yourself which of several tasks is the best way to spend your time?

3. Do you always ask which task should be your higher priority in view of your short-term and long-term goals?

4. Do you concentrate on the homework you're doing in the present, rather than feeling sorry for yourself because you aren't scoring the results you wish you were scoring?

If you answered "yes" to all of the abovequestions, you're winning the war against procrastination.
If you answered"no" to any of the questions, you need to recognize the possibilitythat procrastination is keeping you from living a richer life.

Ask yourself why you haven't written a goal for this year. What are the benefits of establishing priorities? Do you postpone tasks for justifiable reasons, or do you simply look for excuses to procrastinate.

Always ask yourself if homework/revision/practice papers/TYS needs to be done at all. Even though the answer is YES,
Do you know why are you doing all this?
Make a list of what you most regret not having done in your life because of the poor decisions you made in the past about how to spend your time.

Many people load themselves down with work thatis unnecessary or that could be justifiably postponed.

As the novelist George Eliot said, "It's never too late to be the person you could have been." Today is a good day to start!
