[The Food Dossier] DaXi 大喜

DaXi (大喜, which translates to "great joy" in Chinese) bills itself an Asian fusion boîte whose forte centers on the humble jiaozi ie dumpling - steamed, pan-fried or snogged by soup, with sizeable diaspora of just comme il faut, uninventive pabulum like lu rou fan (braised pork bowl), beef shank noodles, garlic dou miao (pea sprouts), grilled bentos and assorted egg rolls consociating for good measure. Hardly Asian fusion really, IOO.

Cantoned under the ambit of multi-restaurant operator Minor Food Singapore, DaXi first dropped anchor at VivoCity 11 December 2021, before fanning out machine-gun quick to several other major shopping locales: AMK Hub (20 December 2021), Velocity@Novena Square (7 February 2022 - since closed), Jurong Point (1 September 2022), etc. We grabbed a helter-skelter late lunch via its Plaza Singapura nook.
