Yes, the sound of it is terrible. It is even more insane when it reads "For starters, Google will be sharing critical APIs—in this case, datastreams that divulge a user’s profile information, who their friends are and what applications they install."
Nobody gives a dime about securing the internet in case of identity thefts and abuse of personal demographics and information. All they care is the senseless war between the corporations. I sorta "predicted" it in my series of post on Web 2.0, true enough we see it for real now.
If it opens up full fledge, all the more corporate companies will not want to implement Web 2.0 applications. Which company will want to risk strangers accessing their confidential database?
