Hi,

I'm thinking of using induction hob by using the electricity instead of the normal hob using gas. How is everyone opinion? What is the pro and con by using the induction hob? Please share. Thank you very much.

I researched online before. And saw that it's quite safe when you have kids at home (and when they're at the "dangerous age") induction hob « Kitchen Design

It uses the electromagnetic field to transfer heat from the hob to the pot. Hence only pots certain types of pots/ pans are able to be used. As long as a piece of magnet is able to attract onto the pot/pan, it can be used on induction hob. And checked that these pots/pans are usually slightly more expensive than those that can be used for gas hob.

But as enquired with some shops selling induction hobs, they say the induction hob requires 32amp electric, bigger than the 13amp in hdb. So probably have to get an electrician to do the job. Not sure if that is true.
