I did a blood test last week and result show that i'm a carrying Thalassaemia.

Does anyone have the same cause as me?

Hi voice,

Thalassaemia manifests in its minor form as well as its major form. Thalassaemia minor is usually almost dormant which I believe is what you have.

It is best that your husband also go for a blood test to see if he has thalassaemia. If he doesn't your condition will not pose any danger to your unborn child.

My husband has thalassaemia. I don't. My son is normal.

Yea, agree with the rest. I'm the one with Thalassaemia and when I had my no.1, the gynae requested my hubby to do the blood test to check too. Luckily my hubby was fine. So both our kids have very mild cases. :001_302:

Don't worry too much, ask your gynae for more advice if you're really worried.

as long as your hubby doesn't have it, there's no major concern. the chances of your baby getting a Thalassaemia minor is 50%.
if your hubby has it too there's 25% baby will be a major which is life-threatening or lucky 25% no trait at all :)
should ask your hubby to get a blood test for this.
