Baby size doesn't match

Hi, just went for my 8 weeks scan this mining only to find out my bb is only measuring 7 weeks. Dr said it's normal as most people get their LMP wrong or ovulation late. For my case my LMP is definitely correct as I always have it written down in my handphone. As for ovulation, this is a planned pregnancy so I knew when I ovulated.
Please advice if any of you have had such experience before as I'm worrying sick.

it's okay.. babies grow differently, some faster, some not. even when reach later stage of pregnancy, some might have heavier babies while some have smaller babies. most imptly bb is not very small and the heartbeat is well, and your gynae see no problem right? That time I count by my LMP and I was suppose to be 5week+ preggy but the ultrasound showed that I was only 4week+ preg and cant even detect the anything just a tiny lil dot. Gynae said could be late ovulation. I was very worried too but now my son is alrdy 20mth old =)

im last mens is at 26 sep, according to this date 01 nov i go scan should be at 5 weeks but he result shows im 7 weeks, but if count back according to 7 week, the week im suppose to conceive is when im having mensus...cant be mah right?

so u see, baby grow differently, as long as healty, dun bother too much about how many weeks ok?

Dear angiebaby & apollo, thx for the positive experience you've shared.
Just that this is my second pregnancy and my first was quite accurate so now a bit on a panic mode.
Can I also ask subsequent ultrasounds will have to follow the scan results to determine the EDD or still follow LMP?

I think it really depends on how fast the baby grow, my first scan machine said edd 29/jun, one month later scan machine said 22/jun, one month later scan again 27/jun...i also dun know what to expect now, i guess when days nearer, we will know :001_302:

I rmb my EDD did change during 1st tri.. But I forgot whether it change to earlier or later date alrdy. =)

Changed Later.

Once at week 7th ( suppose to be week 8 become week 7), another at week 8th (Doctor wanna see patient at week 8.. later a few days)
Another time at week 10. (later a few days again)

I wonder Drs actually know what they are saying, either that or the machine is wrong all the time.

its very normal =)
sometimes its jus too small to get accurate length readings hence different GA and EDD
i guess no one is accurate during their first tri

hey all

i also face similar situation. just had my ultrasound scan. my LMP is 4july, suppose to be 7 week. but the scan showed that my baby is also 5 weeks. dr say either my baby is not good or i ovulate late 2 weeks. i am very loss and worried now. going back for another checkup next week.

any advise for me? thanks.

hii,
experiencing the same also. went for check up when 8w3days, but doctor said the fetus is 7w6d. it's normal tho & can hear the heartbeat clearly. the size is around 1.45cm. so far doctor said it's normal, coz may be we ovulate later than normal calculated days.

Yap is normal, sometimes we conceive later, I also keep record because we plan for it. My baby EDD also change 3 times, initially was 21 Nov > 19 Nov > 12 Nov.. getting earlier and earlier haha..
