Dear mummies, I am doing my confinement now and the above confinement nanny is my greatest nightmare and fear now.
As I had given birth a month in advanced, she got her friend to be help me for the first two weeks. Her friend was wonderful and took very good care of my baby and myself.
On the 16th of May 2014, she was supposed to take over the replacement nanny. She told the replacement nanny that she would arrive at about 12pm. The standard timing as what I understood from the replacement nanny was that the nannies were supposed to leave between 10am to 12pm. My replacement nanny waited till 1.30pm and there was still no news from the above nanny.
We tried calling her a few times but to no availability. At about 2pm, we managed to get hold of her and she said she would reach about 3pm. At 4pm, there was still no sign of her and again, she did not picked up her phone calls from the replacement nanny or myself.
My replacement nanny had to return to Malaysia and she left at 6pm with my approval as we could not get hold of the above nanny. I tried calling and calling her but she did not picked up my phone calls. I gave up and finally at about 730pm, she called and said there was something wrong with her phone and she would be arriving soon. Finally, at 830pm she arrived at my door step. Not wanting to create a scene since we would be living together for the next two weeks and thinking that she was caught in the jam at customs, I did not want to pursue the matter of her lateness. It was only through conversations the next day that she spilled the beans that she went shopping and thus explained her lateness!
Anyway, to cut the story short, her actions were weird and her behavior was too. She would come into my room at 7am when my husband and I were both sleeping and pushed herself to the edge of my bed and sat down stroking me asking what we wanted to eat for dinner. She also would come into my room when I was resting and sit on my bed and tell me grandmother stories about her experience as a confinement nanny for a few hours despite me telling her I wanted to rest. She also picked up my baby only when it is feeding time and then after burping her, just put her in the cot and sleep or shove my baby to me as she has a lot of calls and was on the phone practically from 5am till 1am. Yes, she does not sleep or rest.
The ultimate was when I woke up one day and realized she moved all my furniture in my living room and my display items all over my house. She even took out stuff from my storeroom to display out and opened up the bird nests that my friends gifted me during my hospital stay to display in my kitchen. I already had a lot of unopened bird nest in the fridge and she just had to open all the new ones in the boxes. I told her off for messing up my house and she insisted she was doing me a favour by redecorating my house in preparation for my baby shower which is 2 weeks away!
I then terminated her as I could not live with her and my nightmare begins! She calls me and my husband in the wee morning 1am 2am. She came up my house to make a din outside and attempted to open my door and banging and banging too. Now, as we do not pick up her calls, she got a MBS casino restaurant staff to call us and said she needed our assistance as she is unwell and wanted my husband to bring her to see a doctor as she worked for us before. I have terminated her 6 days ago!!!!
This above nanny is crazy. Her Singapore contact no, is 98604811 and her Malaysia no. is +6016-235 8514. Please beware of her as I highly suspect she has some mental problems. She told us she has a lot of people waiting to hire her and she was even offered to go US to do confinement for people and do not know the rates and needed to ask fellow nannies. I was telling my friend whom recommended her to me and she said she said the exact same thing 4 yrs ago!!!! She even went up to my friend's place two days after I terminated her saying that I suffer from post natal depression and terminated her and since she has no place to go, she wanted to stay at my friend house for a night!
