Hello. We are a group of three passionate community driven MBA students who, considering and understanding the requirement for breastmilk feeding, are planning to initiate a breastmilk bank in Singapore and are currently working to gauge the interest from both donors as well as receivers. For those of you new to this concept, it has been successfully implemented in countries such as UK, US, South Africa, and China. At the facility/bank, we would help pasteurise and deep freeze the milk received from the donor mothers until any receiver requests for it. We are going to follow the international guidelines prescribed for collecting, pasteurising, and storing the milk so no compromises on quality. If you would like to get more details or think a bank like this would benefit you as a donor mother or the receiver, please reply to this post so we can help answer any questions you may have and also figure out if this is something mothers in Singapore would be interested in. We are happy to incorporate any ideas from you all.
