I am deciding which Gynae to choose from, Thinking TMC will be the number 1choice for me to deliver but some of my friends told me Gleneagles also not bad. So will have to decide which Gynae 1st before deciding the hosital.
Pls pm me if those who know how much the package charges is like for the docs below. THANKS! also Need to understand on each Gynae's specialist on C-section or Natural.

1) Dr Lawrence Ang, TMC / Sunplaza
2) Dr Adelina Wong, TMC
3) Dr Jeanette Chen, TMC
4) Dr Ang Huaiyan, Mount Alvernia , Gleneagles

The listing is all very famous gynae.

I prefer female gynae, so I choose doctor LN Sim.

Her sewing skill is good. My scar just a fine line.

My gynae is Dr Adelina Wong. I had my first natural delivery with her. Now I am seeing her again for my twins.

For Dr Wong, she will usually encourage you to go for natural birth first, if circumstances allow. She is also very sweet and friendly, always making sure that our concerns are heard and give us advice. The staff at her clinic are also very friendly. But you will need to be prepared to wait, especially on mornings when it is more busy.

I signed up for package at 16 weeks in late 2008. It was $628 before GST then, but I think she may have raised the price. This time round I am unable to use the package as I'm expecting twins. Her package includes, 1 urine dip stick, consultation, and a scan + scan printout. Does not include vitamins, tests and CTG scans.

Hi ... Is DR Sim costly? yeah i heard about her also...
cant decide which 1.. actually I've been to Dr Ang for 2 years, feel that she's good.. but she's very costly.. wonder if I should just stick to her and ask her whether she can deliver at TMC.

I am currently seeing Dr. Wong too.. She takes time to ask you how you're feeling and if you've got any questions..

I agree.. It's not cheap but I must say its reasonable. I also like the ladies at the front desk.. They're very nice.

She is not as cheap as other gynaes you can find around, but I do believe you are paying for her experience. I usually ask her a lot of funny questions about her experience as a gynae and based on her stories, it seems like she has seen a lot of different cases and more or less nothing new surprises her.

Initially my hubby also feel she is expensive, but now he is the one who encourage me to go back to her for my 2nd pregnancy.

I just deliver my baby 3 months ago and my Gynae is Dr Sim LN and i can have only good things to say about her .
She is VERY good and nice . Patient as well .
She is very pro to natural birth . Keep asking me to try natural and not C-sect till the last moment . Even the nurses at the delivery room say she is good -Want her patients to go natural and not C-Sect .

Some Gynae i heard ask patients to go C-Sect is because they can plan their schedule which i felt is not right .

After my delivery , I went back to see her for my Pap-Smear and she is very concern about my health and my baby . Asking questions who is taking care of the baby etc and her health etc ...

Another one thing good about Dr Sim is that she will not waste patient money in unneccessary tests.
Some gynae ask patients to do this test , do that test to earn $$$$ . But Dr Sim is the type when she feel that u need it then she will ask you to do .

If i am expecting another baby , i will certainly go back to her but well i decide to stop at one . hahahaha.

I had a not so good experience with Thomson Medical during my 1st visit for my pregnancy check-up with Dr WK Tan.

My gynae was Dr Roger Heng (clinic is on Sims Ave) and his hospital is East Shore. He is a good gynae and very patient

i agree with u! when i went bk for the 1st week checkup and also 6th week pap smear, she was v concern on both my and ds's health. and she could see that i was v stress over the milk supply and told me not to wry too much and she said she dun wish me to get into PND just becos of the supply of milk! haha!

and yeah, i seek for her advice on whether i shd go for OSCAR test and she told me is up to me but she said for my age, i can skip to test unless i have spare cash. when i was TTC, she even asked me to go pharmacy and get my folic acid cos she said her clinic charges higher for folic acid compareed with pharmacy. and when i conceived with ds, she will asked me if i still hav folic acid at hm, if have, dun have to buy from her.. haha!

Would not recommend Lawrenece Ang who has a clinic at SUN Plaza and a rented clinic at Thomson Medical Center. Reasons being,

1) He does not operate a full clinic at Thomson Medical Center. His consultation over at TMC is usually rush and fast because he has to rush back to his own clinic at Sembawang which is kilometers away. If you are late, you will miss your appointment because he is usually out of sight by 9am. This explain why there is long queue in Sembawang clinic.

2) He talks fast and lack of patience. You will feel just like being treated like a product running through a conveyer belt in a factory. His delivery charges is cheap because he tries to deliver as much babies as possible.

3) If you are in labour in a weekday morning and check into delivery ward, chances are you have to wait until he drives all the way from sembawang to TMC. You have to cross your fingers that there is no traffic jam or is not moring peak traffic along the way.

4) Lastly, as for his stiching skill, most mothers who has her first child not delivered by him would agree that his skill is not fantastic nor excellent.

Once there is a gyne told me the money you paid is worth the skill you get. I totally agree with him. Nowadays, most parents have on average two kids, why we want to get such gyne and being treated like a product? If time could go back, I would never select him as my gyne. There is a lot more better gyne than him in Mt Avernia and Glenegles. BTW, he charges $1,400 to $2,000 for normal delivery (as of June 2010).
