(COMPARISON) Estimated Hospital Bill

When I was at the gyane's clinic (in NUH)last month, the assistant of the my gynae walked through with me on the types of room and bill size and wanted me to decide which ward to take up for my delivery. Naturally, I can change my mind if I want an upgrade.


I have opted for 4 Bedder and the following is breakdown of the estimated bill:-

Normal Delivery (2 days)
-----------------------
B1 - $1,190
Paed & Nursery - $280
Doctor - $1,300
Anaesthetist - $600
Paed Standby - optional
Estimated Bill Size - $2,170 to 3,470
Medisave claimable - $2,100
Deposit - $1,350

C-Section Delivery (3 days)
--------------------------
B1 - $2,290
Paed & Nursery - $340
Doctor - $2,500
Anaesthetist - $600
Paed Standby - $100
Estimated Bill Size - $3,793 to $5,993
Medisave claimable - $3,950
Deposit - $2,000

As NUH is a restructured hospital and I am just wondering if the estimated hospital bill is tad high? Hence, would love to hear from some of you mummies to check if I am paying too much?

I'm looking at the MOH website and it does look that NUH B1 bill size is more expensive compared to KKH or SGH Ministry of Health: Bill Size Details, in fact it's even higher than the 4 beder at PEH, if I'm reading the charts correctly.

I feel that the chart is not reliable for individual's hospital bill.

It's better to ask the counter from the hospital staffs directly

Like eg. if the hospital site put maybe "this amount" for single bedded, 2 bedded and so on..
the total amount is actually not that amount like what it stated in their site.
it's more than that.
