HELOOOOOO gags.....

i've not done my IVF yet....but my colleague did it in Glen E wif tat branded gynae Chris Chen.....

b4 the IVF, she has to undergo ops to clear her friboids....tis op costs abt 20k.......her hubby oso did smting, but i duno wad...oso abt 20k...

then she rest for abt 2mths...then tried 2 IUIs but failed...her IUI costs abt 6k each......

then last is IVF where she striked.....she said her dosage of the jab is 300ml (but its taken once evy alternate day).....she has to go back to see Dr Chen evy alternate day for her jabs cos Dr Chen refuse to let her DIY at home, afraid she may do it wrongly...she's oso those submissive type n listen 100% to him wif no doubts.....so evy alternate days, she goes back to visit him for her jabs n scanning (tink she pay the consultantion fee until vomit blood)......

she stopped the jabs at abt day 15 of her cycle...then do the IVF yaaa...after she "put" her eggs back, she still haf to go back n see him twice a week for him to monitor ....she told me tat she got take some med during the 2ww.....

she told me she had spent 28k++ on IVF yaaaa...she told me its better to buffer 30k (juz in case yaaaa)..........she oso cant claim any subsidy for her IVF lehhh cos Dr Chen is private......

but for her, the $ is worth it cos she has finally striked after 3years of ttc wif TCM, TMC, KK n finally Glen E......she told me she had spent almost 80k (both her n her hubby, including the ops).....she oso said tat really super HARD to ttc...evyting's abt $$$$$$....by the time she strike, her savings is almost zero liaooo......

Hi, shashan here. According to my experiences, whether to see a 'branded' doc is not important, some specialists in certain hospital are quite good too. And it usually cheaper than 'branded' doc.

My gynae is from SGH, I'm seeing a lady doc there-Dr yung su ling. She's quite friendly and experience in infertility treatment. My 1st ivf failed, after she diagnosis my problem, 2nd attempt I was pregnant but lost at week 5, thus can see that from point to point there is an improvement and I'm going to start my 3rd attempt, hope will be able to success this time.

Almost forgot, my 1st ivf cost about $10k, 2nd $12k. The most expensive thing is the injection, the more injection u need, the more expensive it is. And u have to prepare about 2k cash for some pre-ivf tests, check up and insurance as well. All this are not claimable.

IVF in govt hospital range from few hundreds to 2-3k, depending on your hormone dosage, after medisave claim and 3k govt grant (but can only put in 2 eggs).

Private hospital ivf will be $10-12k or maybe more, depending on the gynae. And this is after medisave claim.

No, total bill about 10k, 1st timer can use medisave up to 6k, government co funding 3k, thus 1st time paid about 2k+ plus some other unclaimable tests.

When u r going to start your ivf, the nurse will explain to u, it's compulsory by government. Insurance only cost about $100-200, cannot remember. Unclaimable. It cover the risks that we may face during ivf treatment.

Shashan - Dr Foong said my embryo wasn't developing into fetus, reason was more to the quality of that particular one. Are you going to start a fresh cycle soon? Which doctor are you with?

Good luck to all of us!
