Dishonest Travel Agency

Hi mummies,

I would like to warn off ppl from this travel agency however i do not know which channel to go about. I will reveal the name of the travel agency upon I truly rcvd their refund chq this sat. It is very frustrating and annoying dealing with them whereby they kept playing tachi, it's been more thn a year and my son frm inside my stomach till oredi gg 7 mths.

That reminds me of a travel agency I encountered many yrs ago...:nah:

Well, i bought a pair of tickets last year jun for me and hubby in early feb'09, however due to H1N1 and being a pregnant woman have a very high risk esp we are travelling to the states. Hence, we contacted the travel agency and the boss told me "NO problem, everything can be change including the dates" (as i requested to postpone my air ticket to a later date say end of the year or next year, he claimed it was not a problem). Thank god i went down to their shop week later as I was passing by to further request for documentation proof so as later i can produce it to claim for my air tickets for later date. The front desk lady gave me another story, luckily the boss was in but he was like blur blur... "errr.. oh we cannot postphone so long for your tickets the maximum is 1 month from your travel date, i was like why didnt you tell me on the phone and IF i did not made my trip down, i am still in the dark and IF i did not verified with them who knows my air tickets refund might be forfeited as they might CLAIM they did not submit my claim since i did not request for refund. Ok, fine.. i asked them to submit my refund since I'm under high risk traveller but they want to charge me $150 each for processing/admin fee and claimed it was charged by the airline. Already quite pissed hence I requested the front desk lady to give me the person in charge from the airline so as I can check with her on this matter.

To shorten up the whole story, hubby called up the airline and spoke to Ms Wong and she claim they did not charge $150 instead it was $50 or so for 2 pax. Anyway due to my special case, we requested waiver which the airline accepted. They already processed and refund back to the travel agency 2 weeks later after my hubby spoke to them. The drama still continue, the airline said they deal with this travel agency directly but the travel agency claim they have this so-called consortium (middleman) that they go through and claim airline did not refund them yet, keep asking me to wait and will get back to us, weeks and months of waiting and even went down more than 10 over times still pending until one day my hubby got so pissed off, he stormed into the travel agency with my son (i was not with him) and demanded to speak to the boss and threaten to call the cops, report them to the press and tourism associations than they seem to be "scare", they called their so-called consortium (which i suspect is their travel agency account dept at another office) and this lady Li Li promised my hubby that the cheque will be in the travel agency the following Monday. Lucky I called them up to confirm first on Monday and the front desk lady said "Huh, what cheque as if she did not know anything about and AGAIN said she will call them and check and get back to me" whenever i asked them for the party number and address, they refused to give me.. even they gave me the number to Li Li, it went to the fax. This Li Li did call us back and told us "Sorry Miss, as i will be on leave the next following day can i get back to you the following wednesday and give me her number that cannot get her". Idiot. But she did call me on Wednesday and insist they will courier / registered mail to us today even though I keep insisting to collect from the office, she just very good at taichi, sigh.. i fall into their trap again.. after weeks of waiting, still no sigh of my cheque.. tried to call her dead fax number, sure cant get her.. called up the travel agency and spoke to front desk lady threatening her that I am in the verge of making a police report and IF they do not resolve it today, i shall call the police. She said "ok, u wait i call LiLi and check".. She did call me back for once and told me cheque will be ready on Saturday. Honestly speaking, after being put aeroplanes for so many times.. i am still half hearted, sat came and i called before going down and she said cheque is ready. When I went down to collect my cheque, the boss can be smiling and being so friendly at us, wanting to play with my son. I salute his good acting! FINALLY after 1 1/2 yrs before getting back my refund.

Even the airline told me this travel agency not honest, they received many complaints but i asked why they still used them. She revealed that they need one big serious case maybe a complaint to tourism board so as the airline will look into it and terminate them off being their agent.

Seems like many lousy travel agencies are good taiji player.. This reminded me of that green color sign board agency that cheated the whole 42 pax tour group.. They advertised very good itinerary to trick you to sign the package with but when we reached there they didn't give what they are selling..

Oh dear, what a nightmare! they are really dishonest man! SO MUCH BULL CRAP! :mmad:I hope they are not one of the big names in the industry...

The one I went to many yrs ago, had it their way. :( I was young and didn't know how to fight for my "rights". BIG SIGH. Booked tix to HK for my parents, my sister-in-law suddenly going to delivery in Indo.... so my parents had to go to Indo instead... I called the agency, they also told me no prob can postpone with a little admin fee. I had no choice, so I agreed. Went down the very day I called them, but they told me forfeited liiao. :eek:10:

ya lorr! I learned my lesson too! Saw this agency's itinerary so exciting. Went there. Everyday got SO MUCH FREE TIME, EVEN TOUR GUIDE DUNNO WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can truly understand how you feel esp when you were young and innocent. We should boycott all these unscrupulous travel agency!!!!

Hi Mummies,

Just to share with you gals some of the front desk staff are newbies and some are even part-time therefore come to refund stuff they might not be able to give advise as they are not specialised in ticketing.

Comes to refund air tickets different airlines charged differently and depends on the travel agency how much they are going to charge to the travellers dat is why they will tell you there will be $150 admin charges where the airlines only charge them $50. It roughly takes abt 3-6mths to process.

And comes to the smaller agents they are not entitled to issue tickets due to their credit limits therefore they only get from bigger agents so they also need to wait for the bigger agents to get the cheque from airline and clear the cheque before refunding to customer.

As why the delay is so long Im also very puzzled.

Hopes this info make you guys have clearer picture of the travel agents.

Most companies that are involved in the recruitment of nurses trained abroad have a website. There are some things you need to search the site to help you judge the quality of the agency and recruiters who work for them.

please let us know which travel agencies. I'm interested too. are these small fries agencies?

Complain to tourism board immediately is the best. These agencies just go on to cheat other innocent people!
