Hi Destiny & Jesskoo,
Did you have to tell him in person, or just inform the nurses at recept? Did they release your medical records to you or to your new gynae?
Sorry.. missed out on these points...

We told him in person that we have finance issues and like to change to KK. He did not release any medical records, just say we can use the 20 weeks blood test and 24 weeks detail scan report can liao. When we switch to our new gynae, he still do all the standard test but was able to keep monitoring the weight gain more closely. So i think its ok.. There will be some follow up tests also.. for example, I was diagnosed as Hep B carrier, Adrian did not ask me or my husband to do any follow up testing. My doc in KK requested us to do some follow up testing just to be sure.

But do be careful of the additional costs they will ask you to pay if you back out.. they did tell me we need to re-calculate the doctor's fee by per visit, which means at 1 point, we have the impression they want us to pay more. However, after calculating, i think they realise if we pay by per visit, they need to give us a refund (because i only went for ~4 visits when i decided to opt out). So their official reply is "oh doctor say nevermind, so you don't need to top up for the payment" Actually i was wondering, if we don't need the medical records from him, maybe what we need to do is just to stop visiting him.. not sure if this is ok.

Thanks Destiny for the detailed reply. I'm just abit concerned of the additional costs too, cos I've seen him 8 times so far, and worried that things don't turn out amicably and become nasty, that would be bad... I've heard about all the standard procedures that every gynae normally do too, so I was surprised that my weight wasn't taken each visit, so I just monitor my weight on my own. It's the fact that he said he don't really do birth plans, and that statement 'I don't like to deliver dead babies... you should change doc to Paul Tseng...' that made me uncomfortable if he's really compatible to be my doctor, given that I would like to try for natural birth as much as possible... I'm just worried that he'll trash my birth plan, and just urge me to have csection for convenience sake... even though I read that his csection skills are great... but its not what I hope for my first birth... so it's a dilemma!

Zouere, the reason y I change gynae was because, my 1st was normal under him, 2nd actually was also under him but due to emergency c sect, he asked mi to go kkh. And tis coming one, I wish to go for normal but he dun encourge at all and told mi its very very risky. If not, he ask mi to consider going kkh. Was upset abt it. As I knw there's this VBAC. So I went kkh myself and was very happy tat the gynae encourage mi for VBAC even though they did told mi the risk but still I can try.

Jesskoo, what's VBAC? So you mean he actually asked you to go KK, cos he's not comfortable with the risk involved for you to want to try for normal? Did he asked you to top up the package fees then, since he's the one asking you to go KK?

VBAC mean virginal birth after c sect. He told mi to decide weather to hv c sect under him or kkh. Overall he nv mention vbac I got to knw it through my gal friend. Keke. Keep telling him tat I wish for normal delivery but the way he reply was NO, cannot! But when I was at kkh last week, the gynae seem confidence in VBAC. Keke! They also done all the weight, urine and everything for mi. Hv decided to deliver under kkh. My due date is 16 sept. 2 days aft u.

Hi Zouere, I know your concerns. Those are exactly my concerns too... but when i made that decision, i was worried about the cost too. But in the end, i believe my decision is correct. Because at the end of the day, i'm confident of the medical professionalism at KKH and i know my baby and I are in good hands.

if you consider costs, what if at the end, your gynae ask you to go csec even after you endure for long hours of natural birth, your cost will end up higher.

I always feel that we need to be comfortable with our gynae, if you are not comfortable, then there is basically no more trust. Then how can you be confident with any of his opinions and suggestions. Ultimately, this will increase your stress level unnecessarily which we must try to avoid. Having a baby is stressful enough, we don't need extra stress.

Just my opinion :)

yeah its like that every time. take q no. 1hr before consult hrs if you dun wanna wait standing outside. fast service, fast consult, fast food style, n doc loves csection, wont allow you to overdue your edd. i change doc at 35wks after i just can't seem to get comfortable or gain confidence in him to allow me a natural birth, turns out I was overdue 41wks & 4 days, baby is heavy & healthy... Woody is afraid of stillbirth, so he will tell you so, to scare you perhaps so you can scheduled a csection instead of allowing baby to come natural at his/her own time when he/she is ready.

Both my babies aso deliver by him. First one I didn't went back to him for Pap smear, this time round wan to do but scared pai seh.... Like suddenly feel so shy lol

I have visited another gynae first and the following week to Dr Adrain. First Gynae is from The women Specialist Clinic in Bukit Batok. Upon arrival in the clinic, its spacious, bright, airy. Nurses took blood pressure and weight. Then seeing the Gynae, he did a Ultrasound Scan. explained all questions in details. However, this Gynae seems to have a bad reputation before (I did not know before going) as I googled after visiting him to see review about h im. For Dr. Adrian, the clinic is shared between him and a 24 hours GP. not the best environment I reckon. No point making appointment because I actually made the appointment for the first slot (9.30am) and stepped away to buy drinks as the clinic was not open when I arrive and when I am back, I was the 4th patient because someone came by and registered first. =.= .... No measurement of Weight, Blood Pressure, ultra sound scan, just asked a few questions and the whole consultation was over before I even know it. will visit him for my next appointment and maybe when I get pregnant I might change if I am still not comfortable. Do note he gives a very assuring vibe though. (I have irregular menses and cyst in my ovaries) But he just assured me that its very easy. lol.

Any mummies have seen Dr Adrian Woodworth recently? How is the experience? The last post on this thread was dated 2013.

Hello. I gave birth in Feb 2014. My all appointments with him were so efficient and only last for about 3-5 mins each session. I felt that his appointment was too short and simple to first time parents, he did not discuss birth plan with me when I asked for it. I ended up with a C-section due to slow progress. His stitches skill were good. The cost of his consultation package was consider okay. One of my ex-colleague engaged him as gynae for all her babies and the last one was born in Nov/Dec 2014. She told me that she felt that the service is not as good as previous. In short, I will not recommend him to first time mummy.
