Can someone give me Dr Irene chua number or email? I got pain at my belly button, wan to call her and ask what is happening

Hi, for mummies who wnet to Dr Irene Chua as a private (not subsidised) patient, can you all use medisave to pay your consultation/ hopsitalisation bills? Or anything that you can use to offset your bills? Private patient means you can always stick to the same gynae isst? (Personally, i prefer to see the same gynae.. I find that having a diff gynae during each visit is 'stressful'). Also, is the waiting time for Dr Irene chua long?

For patients from private clinics, they can call up the clinic to look for their gynae if they have any pblms/ qns. Since Dr Irene chua is from KK, how do you mummies contact her? Or can only speak to the nurses and for them to offer nurses' experience? Im curious, how diff the charges and care given are like between pte and govt gynae.. thanks :)

Hospitalisation bills can be deducted by medisave. Yes private patient means the gynae will be all the way till you given birth. Depends.. usually she will give me non-peak hours. But if kenna her "peak hour" really must wait about an hour or more!

Directly contact The Private Suite will do, they will get to Dr Irene Chua and she will get back to you =) Actually KKH private just works the same as normal private hospitals. Just that they are located in a govt. hospital.. but if you are under private care, the rates and such, it's works the same =)

Hi Tiggee,

Antenatal charges are not deducted by medisave.
Usually for me.. once i know i'm pregnant, no matter how early, i'll start visiting the gynae.

For Dr Irene Chua appointment, you just need to call up KKH appointment line.
Tell the person that you would like an appointment to see Dr Irene Chua for pregnancy at The Private Suite..

Depends whether you will get the peak or non-peak hour.
During her peak hour waiting time can takes up to more than an hour..
But if you are lucky to get non-peak period is quite fast =)

Thanks for the info.

On a average, how much will the consultation (scans & what not) fees be?
And how much is her delivery charges?

About 80 if there's no medications.. If with medications is 100++.
Detailed scans, blood test etc. definitely costs more.

Delivery charges not pretty sure.. But for mine..
During 2008 I delivered my first, 1 bedded, natural birth with epidural, induction was 4.6k..
2009 2nd birth, 1 bedded, natural birth with epi 4.2k.
Both 2 days 1 night stay.

Now I heard they have increased. So you can ask the counter directly.
Btw can choose 1 or 4 bedded if you want Dr Chua to be the one delivers for you =)

Hi,

She was my gynae, I just gave birth to my first child in first week Jan 2011.
Was seeing her at KKH-TPS.
When we book our delivery slot, we can only book under Premier package- B1 (4 bedder), A1 (1 bedder).
She's friendly, but she does not give contact number, you got to get to her through the hospital.
Each trip to the TPS ranges from 80+ to 120+ depending on what tests is taken on that day. (not including medication, too)
Each trip, there's an Ultrasound scan included, but this is not the 3D type.

You pay for the deposit in cash when you book your package, either $2080 for normal delivery, and $2600+ for c-sec.
I took a 3Day C-section package at A1 room, bill was $6.5k, not including the baby's bill. Can use medisave claim up to $3950max. (normal delivery medisave is $2K+ only)
Baby's bill is $800+, but can use medisave.

She did a spendid c-section for me. My op was scheduled at 7.30am, bb was born at 7.48am (this is after all my operation prep). I was up in recovery by 815am.
Like the nurses said, "She's MRT like that."
She's fast, accurate....my incision wound is almost invisible!!!! so thin! and no complications at all.

Basically, she's a vey confident gynae, no nonsense, so when she say it's alright/ok/no problem, she means it. Not because she doesn't care, but it's because she's SURE.
If you're looking for a gynae who listens to your worries, sayang you, allow u to call whenever you're concerned/worried type...FORGET IT. I think you need to rethink and get another gynae. I like that she knows her stuff. So see her ONLY if you like a chop chop type of doc.

I'm usually in and out of the consultation in less than 10mins. Love it! :)

PM me for any details, would be most willing to help. :)

However Dr Irene Chua replied to my emails very promptly even when she was on her maternity/confinement.

She is really one dedicated gynae =)

you can use credit card to pay also. KKH offers 6mos/12mos installment via DBS, or 6mos via UOB :)

Hello Everybody,

Can you please tell me the differences b/w TPS and the non TPS?
My wife is 7 weeks pregnant
We have booked our first appointment with George Mariamma at KKH.
I just called up the appointment hotline and booked the appointment. Is Dr Mariamma part of the TPS or the normal one? We are foreigners so not eligible for any subsidy etc. Also any feedback about Dr Mariamma? What will be our typical Ante natal costs like?

^I see Dr. Irene Chua at TPS but also at the Specialist Clinic, there's only a price difference of $10 in every checkup (At the Specialist Clinic we pay around $70, TPS $80.), TPS waiting time is much shorter, and for me service also is better as well. I suggest you just see her at TPS 'coz since you're a foreigner, once your wife gets admitted, you can only choose between A1 or B1 rooms. Me & my husband decided to avail the A1 so he can stay in at the room with me, and also you can accomodate visitors anytime. B1 rooms only can accomodate visitors until 9pm & you have to pay for your overnight stay if you want to accompany your wife. For reference on rates you can check KKH's website.

Thanks Sunshinesheens. I found out that our appointment is at the specialist clinic and 1st appointment cost is 100$ and also George Mariamma sees patients at TPS also, so next time we will schedule at TPS. Our appointment is at 9:00 AM and we are 1st, so hopefully there wont have to wait too long. I will update you how the 1st appointment went.

Cheers!

Hi gals,

little advise....go before 9am to register because you need to do some routine tests such as ht/wt, urine, bp...I usually go earlier so I can zoom in and out asap. If a 910am appt registers before you....Dr will see them first....Thanks!!!

^the urine test is not that long anyway. even if i arrive on time waiting time is just short compared to Clinic A. there were instances when i arrived 15-30mins late and still no problems with queue. if there are not so much patients then you get to be entertained by Dra. Chua right away after the routine test.

If you don't like waiting then avoid checkups on weekends. This is a general rule btw.
