Dr.Roland Chieng and Parkway East Hospital

Dear girls, I am new to MummySG and to Singapore (8Months in SG). Me and my husband are trying for baby for almost 2 years now but no luck!
On advise from my friend, I saw Dr. Tan in Bedok and she forwarded my case to Dr. Roland Chieng as I was not ovulating properly. I have PCOS and my husband's sperm analysis looks quite ok. Dr. is quite happy with his results though motility was lower than expected. We tried two cycles of Clomid. I got my AF but no preg. So this time, he suggested we go for IUI.
I am really scared and worried about this whole thing. Will it work out? Will I respond well? How many more months should I wait? etc etc...
Actually, Dr. is very sweet and cordial to us. I have no issues with him. But I would like to know, If any of you succeeded with treatment from Dr. Roland?
I went for my check up today and he has give me medicines to Jab myself for the next 10 days. I am very tensed. Don't want to share this with my DH and pass on the tension!
Please guide me through. Thank You!

im new to mummysg too. saw your post and gladly wanted to reply to your comment.Me and hubby just got married for 6mths going 7. wanted a kid so much, and feel something was wrong with our body. and now Im with dr roland for 3 weeks now. Dr recommend to do IUI and tadah we did it yesterday (27/12/2011). i was very scared and abit worried, as not to sure what to expect from that procedure.he told me to jab one day before the IUI. Now all i could do i pray to god and need to wait for next 2 weeks for my bloody test.

Hi desperatemom,

When is your IUI? Its my 3rd day tdy. 2ww is really a torture for me. Cant even work, been reading alot of forums.
Doctor says some ppl only get preggy on their 3rd or 4th time of IUI. I really hope this goes well fr us. Having a hole in my pocket nw...$$$ with the appointment n procedure.
But no pain no gain.

hi! im thinking of seeing dr roland chieng too. this is our first try to seek help on fertility. do you think i should go straight to private specialist or preconception checks in KK or govt hospital first?

hi jointheclub,

im not to sure about govt hospital, never approach one before. but i heard their appt waiting time can be very long. For my case with Dr Roland is a very fast process, i met him in mid december, and i was scheduled for my iui in end of december. Baby dust to you!

Hi Dianarafee, Good luck... am visiting Dr. tomo. He will check if I have eggs and accordingly plan for the IUI. Don't read lot. It will only confuse you and give u tension. I know, I also do this reading in 2WW. especially 3-4 days arnd the AF time. Try to relax. I wil pray God that you get BFP this month. baby dust to u

Hi Desperatemom,

Hows you check up been? for my case everything is ok, except husband sperm count is low. Now he is on jab 2 days once. Lets see how the result will be.

Hi Dianarafee, I went in today and was disappointed to see that my follicles have not reacted much to the 7 days jab. so Dr has asked me to increase the dosage and i will again visit him on Friday. Hope I grow eggs well!!! keeping fingers crossed...

Hi! Nt to worry.. Still hope to have babies... Try to eat healthy also... Friday? Thats fast? Ive bn taking so many leaves during last mth, hope my boss nt angry about it.. I will take a rest fr 2 mths if my iui failed this time. Need to saved up $$$. Appoitment is so costly..:(

Yeah, he has asked me to come after 3 days. I am very doubtful abt this cycle being successful. It is very costly. Just like that, I already spent more than 1500$. Let money go but I want positive results thats all. Sometimes, even I feel I shd just take off from work for couple of months and concentrate only on baby making.

Yah i already spend almost to 2k. same as you, i just want positive result. really sickening of it at times. sometimes i wish i could be as lucky as those normal ladies.:(
you must relax and don't let it make you feel more stress on this.

Hi rainy Girl for my case ,1st time consultation fees is $100 ultrasound is $80. after that will be $60 and $50. IUI $500 + $200 for semen analysis. Hope that helps.

Hi diana,

I'm looking ard to c which gyane is gd in fertility. Parkway east is near to my house but I'm concerned with the costs in pte hosp. I went for my 1st IUI at govt hospital in Dec but failed. Not satisfied with the hosp service too. So now considering pte gyane though I have not planned my next IUI attempt yet.

I have all mine & hubby test results from govt hosp. Will Dr Roland tell us to repeat the tests again? Did Dr Roland give u any medicine or jabs to let your eggs grow? As i'm thinking all these jabs/medicine will increase the costs further.

Saw yr previous posts that u had yr IUI done last mth. In yr 2ww now? Good luck to u! :)

Hi,
We were thinking of gov hospital, but thinking of the wait and all. time wasted too much for waiting.Dr roland is a nice man, really advise us on whats the best. so far i think his price for pte gynae is affordable, i tried compare a few others, but exceed my budget.

Not to sure about the test you done before, U might wanna bring all those document there and ask for his advise. yup i was given a jab one day before my IUI process. heard many people had jabs for 10days before their iui. but for my case nothing much lei.

yup tuesday going for my blood test. but feeling like my AF coming already anytime.. *pray to god*
